Apparently only about 40% of the people doing the Cheshire Cat actually make it up Mow Cop, and everyone else ends up walking up

I've just checked that out on street view. Jesus that's a tough section...

That 25% bit at the end is mental! It'll take some training for me to know I can take that. I'm up for it though. Let the lads know I'll tag along on whatever training rides they do (assuming they're not Sat mornings :()

Are you not doing it?

I'll let them know and hopefully you can sort something with them.

I can't really get out on Sundays, and loads of the sportives are on Sundays, so it's a bit of a tough one!

I'm based in Clapham and usually head out to Surrey for rides or Richmond Park for a few laps. I'm up for riding with others locally. I've met up with Mr Flibble on here for a ride once.

Has anybody used Mcipollini clothing before? Apparently they are made in the same factory as Assos in Italy. I've just got some of their bib shorts for £50 down from £165! The packaging is awesome and they come with a washing bag lol.

What wheelset?

I was pretty staggered at the weight saving from Ti skewers! I bought the Planet X ones, super light!

I'm guessing Dura-Ace C35 CL's?

Dura Ace 9000 C24's. I do so much hill climbing and the reviews on the C24's are nothing short of top quality.

I'll eventually get an aero set too :) They are remarkably light though. Tipped the scales at 1368g w/out skewers

Hopefully pick up my new shoes this afternoon too then take her for a spin tomorrow :D

The man upstairs might, but the woman indoors is a tougher sell ;)

Mine's happy to get rid of me! Just set yourself up on justgiving and do it for charity. She can't argue with that..

I'm going to have to give my bike a proper going over before tackling that. Weight is a non-issue considering I'm 200lb+ anyway but my drivetrain is going to be trashed with the torque I'd have to put in to climb that.

Assos are Swiss and manufacture in the Far East.

The MCipollini stuff is tweaked high end Giordana kit.

Cycle store? xs and xxs only; damn you and your childish size.

Wow. Carbon fork, mostly Tiagra with Tektro brakes and a 105 cassette for under £500... Bargain.

I looked at that as a winter bike but when you look at the Ribbble winter bike it has a 7005 frame, full tiagra and guards already on it for 80 quid more - seems a better buy all in.

However the Raleigh is a great buy for 500 and im still tempted, going to go and try and fit the crud roadracers to my ribble in a moment so may be back to order one ;)

The ribble has Sora groupset by default. If you spec it to Tiagra, it comes in at £680.
I think the Raleigh is the much better option.

Ah interesting. Someone is spreading misinformation on BR forums then.

I wonder if the shorts are actually similar in quality to other stuff in that price range like Assos and high-end Gore/Castelli or if they are never actually bought at full price and always sold with crazy 70% off prices.

If they up it to Sora 2013, there's not a great deal to pick from, given that Sora 2013 moves to proper double shifters, but I'd be amazed if they didn't up the price.

Wow! That's a surprising statistic!! I'd have thought it would be a smaller percentage than that.

Had a good ride at lunch today. Felt quite fresh and the weather was as good as I could have hoped. :)
