***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

My micro-sim finally arrived, it took over a week as virgin forgot to release it from their warehouse as it was pending payment when I specifically told them I did not need to pay as I did not require a replacement simcard but a micro-sim for my new phone :S

This phone is amazing, also nice to realise that I get free phone insurance through being a virgin mobile customer yay :D

Now need to see how I can sync everything with my N10/N4 and pc :D

Just received my Nillkin case. Fits nicely and doesn't really add any bulk to the phone. It's similar in feel and weight to the official Galaxy S2 vent cases which I liked, although the vent case was lighter thanks to the holes ("vents") which was a bonus.

It does feel like it'd probably pop off if you dropped the phone so don't rely on it for total protection; I think they've designed it so it doesn't interfere too much with the smooth edges of the display, which I guess is quite nice from a usability standpoint. I'm not intending to drop it anyway, its main purpose for me is to just protect the back when it's put down on surfaces that I haven't had a chance to wipe clean first. :p

You can get it from Phones4You on an Orange 24 month contract for 23.50 a month with a free phone.

I pay 10 a month on GiffGaff at the minute and even though I have no qualms about the network, the deal works out at 324 for the phone if you take off 240 quid for the two years worth of GiffGaff I'd pay.

Trying to figure out if it's worht it, not had a contract in a while and have appreciated the freedom.

You can use a cashback site like Quidco or topcashback to get about 65-70 quid back which brings the price down further but it doesn't say whether it's the 8gb or 16gb versions, if it's 16gb I'm gonna get it but I think the fact it doesn't mention means it's probably the 8.

Well my other half's 8GB arrived yesterday from Google. I thought I had decent battery life managing to get nearly 5 hours screen time out of it........but on first charge she's got 6hrs 50 mins screen time :/ and that's with constant playing over 18 hours setting the phone up etc.

We've got identical sync settings etc so the only differentiator is usage patterns and the hardware itself. I should have a better idea of her actual battery life over a few cycles though.

The £5 Nilkin flip case arrived today so I'll be applying spray to fones later when the kids get here, the Nilkin is defo the real thing the poly textured and coloured box it comes in would be a marvel of piracy in and of itself, the case is excellent but the gripping sides come up imho too far and impede my finger's enjoyment of the curved glass, I'd say the front and back total about 3mm so not much added bulk, it will be my main case unless Poetic bring out an Atmosphere flip for the N4.

Yeah that really doesn't seem bad, but I think the freedom is the main thing, I don't think I'd want to go back to a contract.

Depends how often you like to upgrade really, I may well keep mine for a couple of years but I'd like the option to buy something else in a years time, who knows what might be released by then to excite us all!

I've done the Liquid Armor application easy as pi, if you are capable of cleaning your screen you can apply this as to how protective it is I haven't a clue beyond the youtube vids.

Arghh I really need a new phone as well. The wait would not have been too bad if there were some announcements but absolutely no updates at all from Google about what is happening with these phones.

I've just agreed to buy a new one off Gumtree for £300, reckon that's alright.

Hope it's not nicked.

there's one for sale on ebay near me cash on collection for £290. Not sure I can justify paying an extra £60 for one though....hate paying over the odds for something - especially as its the 8GB one!

won't even be able to get much on trade in of my old galaxy s now either as the screen is dodgy and showing everything very dark!

Just got back, legit deal. Not even opened the phone, it's charging on my bed now.

It's a proper good looking piece of tech, well excited about it. Just gotta cut down my SIM now and hope I don't ruin it.

By the way, the guy I just bought this from works at Currys and got 2 quick when they came in stock, he says has another for sale if anyone is interested?

I paid £300 and it's new, sealed and 16Gb. If anyone wants his number I can email it you or whatever, I didn't get killed and he seemed alright.

EDIT: how do you tell if it's fully charged? It's plugged in now but all it has is a white battery symbol, at first it had a black line in it but now that's gone.

Anyone help?

The lock screen shows the current charge level, it will say charged once it's done. Or two finger notification bar would quickly tell you the battery level.

Well as luck has it a mate is selling me his brand new one for £270! Going to pick it up later on. Same as you I need to make sure I don't make a pigs ear of chopping my SIM down!

i didnt bother cutting my sim. I walked into o2 said i'd bought a nexus 4 and needed a micro sim. 5 minutes later walk out, number transfered etc. Took about 2 hours for one sim to die and the new one to wake up.
