***** Official Football Manager 13 Thread *****

I bought Wilshire (third season) for my Manchester United team, I got him for £38'000'000 and Ramsay for £12'500'000.

Wilshire got injured pre season and is out for ages .

I only 'bought' him for the achievement. Then I restarted the game. The transfer is still pending.

I think I will pass.

I feel if I look around enough (and I have already been looking) I can find players just as good and who cost less. Scouts have been telling me that all good MCs cost between 40-60M, but I feel anything more than 30M+ is crazy. I'll be looking to get galarza back.

So delay for now :P

No. 1:
Wilshere (as seen above)

No. 2:
Kyle Taylor
Transfer: 30M
Wage: 165k/w

No. 3:
Tibor Nagy
Transfer: 42M
Wage: 140k/w

No 4.:
Roberto galarza
Transfer: 43M
Wage: 230k/w

Tbh, i do need 3 midfielders (2 MCs, and 1/2 DMCs) but I don't want to spend this much money. Only 1 over 30M transfer.

Number 2 and number 4 for me. IMO the third guy wouldn't win the ball enough with rubbish tackling, bravery and jumping, plus not great crossing.

The other two are near perfect DMs for me. I play four at the back, two DMs (one Anchor Man and one DLP), three AMs and a striker, so No.2 and 4 would be unbelievable for that kind of system.

I suppose it depends on what formation you play, and whom would play around those guys you'd sign.

I'm 5th in the EPL, semi's of the LC, second round of the Europa League and 4th round of the FA Cup... and I've been given a January transfer window budget of £8m

I disagree! Anyone with the name Tibor and is that good at finishing, passing and general midfield play making must be bought. Mainly to relive one of those simpsons moments no one remembers about blaming that idiot Tibor again....

Anyway pair up Tibor and Kyle Taylor for a great midfield (Galarza and Wilshire are on too much cash)

That's genuinely interesting. I very rarely look at finishing for a CM, or even an AM... think I may need to change my tact!

I'v been playing with 3 the last 2 seasons, one that is a beast of a tackler, one runner (who can finish from distance) and one passer (with high first touch and decent finishing). Worked really well in L1 and the champ :) (interested to see how it will pan out in the prem)

Also, how do you guys view your matches or highlights?

I'm pretty lazy - 2D classic split screen with ratings + condition in the other half of the screen, played on the fastest speed!

Oh no.

Hooked. Finally, taken me about a month, but finally got a game going where I am hooked.

Mid table with Eastbourne Boro at the minute, but getting into it.

Got some youth players in on frees, see how they do through the season, sell the worst, keep the best. Rinse and repeat.

Might get to play off position as only in November and am a few points off them.

Is there anyway of changing the layout so that its similar to the older fm games? I'm havig trouble navigating my way around.

Also, regarding training. What is best advised? Take the hands on approach or let the assistant manager deal with it? Not sure how effective it can be for me as I'm Harrogate Town and only have 2 coaches now, just signed Ugo Ehiogu and hopefully might get Steve Mcmanaman as youth coach :D

What stats do you lot look for when looking for physios? I did all my other coaching roles when the game came out, but i just left the physios as they were and got on with it without any problems.

I recently let their contracts run out and trying to find the best ones that i can find without using any of the sites listing names.

Not too sure about skins this year, usually there are a good few produced 2 weeks in that replicate the older games but iv taken to just learning the new one.

I tend to just stick it on team cohesion for training and then maybe mix it up after a few months. Probably not the best plan but it worked for lower leagues.

 I go for 3D at a good pace to enjoy the highlights (though there are less good highlights this year sadly).

Gets me shouting at my players who do and don't follow the game plan a bit too much though....

High physiotherapy, discipline and then mental/man management (in that order).

All found on the mental attributes filter (instead of the coaching)

Thats where i went wrong then, i couldn't remember what i used in FM12 so did the same i do with other coaches and couldn't find any decent ones.

I was doing Physiotherapy, Disc, Mental, Motivating, Man Management.

Thanks, was almost there, found a good few ones now.

Oh good god... I recently managed to get one of my start players to sign a new contract and after going backwards and forwards with the agent it was all done. I gave a little, they gave a little. Turns out that on the final offer I'd forgotten to remove the minimum fee release clause like I normally do... Completely overlooked it and Real Madrid have just come in with an offer which has to be accepted :(

How much £££?

I cheated :( I don't like cheating, but I hate feeling cheated myself. The contract negotiations had been going backwards and forwards, and upon the final contract offer I hadn't realised the agent had reset the minimum fee release clause. My own fault, but not something I would have included if I'd have seen it.

£30m offer, but I reckon this guy will be in the top three right wingers in the game and my season is far from over. Still in 3 cups and sitting 5th in the league.

I realised I'd saved the game 2 days before he signed the contract, so went back to then and ended up having to replay a tough fixture list consisting of Man Utd twice, Man City, Arsenal and Spurs (whom are the best team around) in consecutive matches.

Speaking of watching the matches...how do you watch the match with commentary and ratings and to make it automatically switch to replays when there is a goal. I could do this with FM 2012.

Mid december, am in the play off positions.

Just have to keep telling my team to enjoy the match, and they do :)

Obviously don't take well to authority when they have low stats themselves. So be nice and kind to them, and they seem to be doing quite well.

Looking forward to starting to find my own players and moving them in slowly, always try and keep the main team from the start, and do a season with few additions, that way you can really assess them.
