***** Official Football Manager 13 Thread *****

I'm doing alright as Kilmarnock but they have bugger all wage and transfer budget and there isn't any scope for improvements. I feel like a change is in order - would you wait it out until the end of the season or would you jump at a job as soon as you can? Or am I best off restarting from 2012?

Interesting advice about Ass. Managers and the like, thanks. I will have to remember that. God, there's a lot to master!

Don't restart. Well, for me I always start one game, and by the end of the year, I will still be on the same game.

If you find a new job that you feel you can get (don't apply at a huge club) then go for it. If there is none, wait it out.

As you want.

You can start out with 10 leagues (all non-European) and take on less popular continents first, then add in European ones when you get to it. I just opened a lot of leagues to have more choice where I want to go.

Interesting - I just went to add a league (as I only have English leagues open) and it says that the new league will kick in when my save ticks over to the nest season (June, in 9 months). When these new leagues become playable, will there automatically be jobs available - i.e. teams without a manager - or will it be similar to the natural flow of the game where jobs become available as and when.

Thanks! :)

I'm sure that is sound advice. I applied for a job at Nott. Forest as they had just sacked their manager and were in all sorts of trouble. I'm not sure if they are deemed too big a club at this level even though they laughed at my application apparently, they still offered me the job :D They offered me more than 5 x my current salary although they want me to clinch promotion to the Premier League and I'm very doubtful I can do that when they are in 18th spot and have very low morale!

But now of course I'm a turncoat and everybody at Kilmarnock hates me :D

Still not sure what to do.. Decisions..

They will already have managers (and regens are already growing). You can take over if a manager gets sacked, like normal. Just the game has no recollection of the first season(s)

Awesome, cheers. tempted to have a go.

On another note, I never get linked to jobs... at all. In this save, now 20/21, I've not once been offered or linked to a job (I never apply for any, but even so it would be nice to be linked!)

wow, 20/21?? That's longer than my Fifa 13 campaign :D So the game just goes on and on?

Yes. You can holiday to 2100 and then see what happened. That would be fun, because its all regens

I don't know. maybe because you are crap :P

Haha - that could be it. I took Fulham to 5th and then Brentford through the leagues to 5th in the Prem, so I've not done too badly. I'd just like to turn the odd job down every now and then... ;)

No idea. The fact that you have just English leagues doesn't help tbh. Much less teams will be interested in you.

That's a great price..

Well I decided to resign as the manager of Notts Forest. I felt under a lot of pressure to get the team promotion and there I was sitting uncomfortably in 20th spot! I should never have left Kilmarnock really, not at this stage but you live and learn! Now I am unemployed, and perhaps, unemployable ;)

Apart from everything else I really struggle with tactics in match. There doesn't seem to be much consistancy to me. One game to the next, they can be completely different. Maybe that's the nature of the sport and it is reflected well in game.

The financial aspect!:

Just less than 50M seems steep for me. His wages ain't cheap either. I think I will give it a miss. Just felt like bidding on a good midfielder (and he was transfer listed)

That's a silly amount of money.

Only player I've gone really OTT for was Kurt Zouma, because I had to get him then for him to count as homegrown (that was 30 something million)
