This post got me hard.Unfortunately the good physios are few and far between. If that is what he's describing, I wonder if you have pronated/suppinated feet and this has caused your knees to travel side to side too much whilst running. Something to get looked in to at a running shop.
I also thought the last thing you want to be doing so soon is cardio, ESPECIALLY swimming. I've had a very similar injury to you previously, took me out of action for 6 months. Swimming was pure agony as the drag of the water caused the knee to twist.
Could be something weird due to hitting the wall strangely during a turn or something?

Could have been I suppose might have just slipped on the push off, don't know don't think there will be anyway of knowing.
Only thing I can think off is I just got a pair of new walking boots which I have had for only just 6days and then I had this pain develop, think that new boots could cause knee issues?
Your injury is inconsistent with what you're describing and your rehabilitation is at best laughable. Get it seen to properly, get a second opinion, find out some facts, listen to people.
