***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Man this is a sweet phone. Coming from an iPhone 4S it's quite the eye opener.

It's hard to put my finger on it but it just feels like a device that you actually own rather than one that owns you. That sounds a little clichéd I'll admit. :D

Already found plenty of apps that are free that would either have been chargeable or non-existant on Apple Store.

Even customising the home screen with a simple clock widget is something you forget you ought really to be able to do with a device you own.

On the downside I have to find a way to send back the second order I placed that turned up (I hadged my bets because I knew of Google's random stock fulfillment procedures), unfortunately it was signed for so I can't do the whole "refuse delivery" thing. :(

I'm missing something obvious I'm sure as i have this slight issue where if i tilt my phone landscape my navigation buttons stay on the right side of the screen and do not move to landscape, anyone know how to fix this (iplayer and chrome)?

I'm currently using AOKP rom which i feel is very good once set up, apart from the none rotating navigation bar ><

That is by design, they stay there for easy access with your thumbs while viewing in landscape.

It can be changed with various roms if you prefer.

In tablet mode (nexus 7) they do rotate. The latest version of Xylon allows you to rotate them as you desire. As well as Paranoid Android I believe. :)

Any must have apps apart from the obvious big names?

- Anyway to better integrate Google Drive into things like the gallery app and the general system?
- Best back-up/restore option for all data including system and apps?

Thanks mate gonna try out Paranoid now, used Xylon earlier but lacked some of the options that AOKP offered (kill app and stuff)

Nexus Root Toolkit v1.6.2

I used the software to unlock, root and backup my phone once i had it set up nicely, its so wonderful to test out different custom roms knowing your 5min away from restoring to your own customised setup (in my case AOKP setup).

I seem to have an issue.
Gmail doesnt notify me straight away when i get an email. Sometimes i takes a minute or two longer than the iphone. Sometimes its like 10/20min. Only happens on when wifi is turned on.....

Liking Xylon, it's got the stand out pie feature along with all the regular mod cons from the regular roms. Only issue I have found so far that in expanded desktop mode the wallpaper doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the screen, still a black bar halfway through the dock.

Are you using Nova Launcher? If so in options press the vol down button (i think it is) & enable the option for the wallpaper.

Hi I ordered one of these Thursday afternoon the 8GB Model, I cancelled the order Friday morning as the delivery was estimated 2 weeks shame as I probably would have received it by now. Anyway when ordering Google mentioned no money would be taken but my bank is showing £248 missing the exact amount the phone cost. Its been like this exactly just after ordering.

Anybody know why Google has done this and how long it takes for them to issue me the money back?

Many thanks :)

If their previous record is anything to go by you'll probably still end up with the phone at some point.

Is it actually showing up as a transaction with Google taking the money?

If not then the money has simply been reserved but will return automatically. Google won't have to do anything.

How so? :(

I have the cancellation email confirming this. I wouldn't be too fussed if I got the phone, its just the money is missing which is a little worrying.
