***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Cheapest place is Google's Play store. Anywhere else is going to be at a significant premium, especially on contract. It's a total no-brainer to buy it direct.

Can anyone tell me the easiest/best way to flash back to stock android? i have lost some of my internal memory which was showing 8gb of 12 gb. ive been mucking about with it and got it back to 10 but apparently it needs to be reset to stock and have to reset factory settings and clear cache.

ive had a good look but just getting confused. i apparently need the drivers for the phone too. any help greatly appreciated

well after i was looking for hours on how to return this to stock, i was using the 1.3 toolkit so quite out of date. downloaded the 1.6.2 toolkit and its now back to stock showing 12.6 of 12.9 gig available.

now to get the rom and all my apps back on.

mine shipped 2 days after ordering..... 1 - 2 weeks?! lol
alas nobody was home on Friday..... going out tomorrow tnt depot is 30 miles away.
trust them to use tnt.

If I got a giffgaff sim, could I have it to automatically take my money out or do you have to top it up like a pay a you go phone ?

i am on giff gaff with nexus 4, you can set it up in my giff gaff to automatically take your money. I have, you will also have to enter the giff gaff details into your phone so you can get data etc. i will post a link later as i have to do it again as rooting my phone again.

You know, instead of posting that and waiting for an answer, you could've just went to the website and found out in just a few minutes...

But to answer your question, you can do either.

Ah balls, so they don't leave it with a neighbor? Nobody will be home on Monday, and my TNT depot is over 40 miles away. I think it's too late to get it sent to my work!

Not sure what your point is, he definitely wanted the phone, but because he didnt trust Googles ordering system because he was aware of all the issues even getting something into your basket and actually ordered he ordered 2, one right away and one a bit later expecting to be able to cancel one once he got confirmation of the order itself via email.

Unfortunately by the time he got it Google decided you cant cancel via their system (still dont understand why this is so short when the shipping time is a few weeks, completely understand if it was available for next day delivery). I completely agree he should pay the extra delivery charge, thats not the issue, accepting Googles ordering system for what it is, is...

He should count himself lucky, to this day Ive still not got a confirmation email that I ordered one and only just got the shipping email a few weeks ago ages after it was in my hands. Pretty much this forum and me having to phone them was the only way to work if/when it would turn up.

ps3ud0

My point is what was the point in ordering two if he knew full well what the system was like, especially when he already ordered one to begin with?

I didn't get any confirmation, no tracking, nothing it just turned up one day after I ordered it. I don't know why people are getting their knickers in a twist when it clearly says how long it will take when you get a confirmation email.....This thread has turned into a whole bunch of waaaaaaaaaa & whine.

Might as well stretch your budget for the 16gb.. 16gb is bare minimum these days. Apps/media will only grow larger in size. And dont forget, you actually get less than 8/16gb of free space.

thanks for the info.

Biggest pain right now is andriod updates and samsung in general, kies is a piece of ****, and really annoying me atm.

16gb vs 8 im still unsure, ok so apps get bigger but the 8GB model i got for family member is doing ok with their apps, just photos i guess ect that might cause the need for more room...

decisions..decisions

ps any offical word from samsung when they releasing this bloody JB for SG2?

Ive been looking in setting but cant figure out how to take off the vibrations when using the keypad (typing in messages). Possible?

It's fine if you make some "adjustments" to the rubber parts in the clamp. They come out easy enough and with a craft knife they can be carefully trimmed down. I'll see if I can get a photo of my N4 sat in one.

Thanks I'll give it a try.

Had this when I ordered my Nexus 7... Basically just meant they took it back to the depot after a failed delivery attempt. No big deal, at least not in my case.

Man how beautiful is jelly bean! Android is such a smooth and goodlooking OS! Such a joy to use. Showed my iPhone hardcore friends today and they have ordered one. They can't believe how good looking it is. They Also couldn't believe I paid £290 delivered!
Thank god I seen the light and ditched iOS. Lookin the dialer and contacts app. Love the high resolution pictures and the clean lines.

Anyway, is anyone using anything to protect the back? Mines nude and kind of like it like that but should I get a clear protective film on the back?

I always enjoy it when people embrace Android and enjoy it as much as I do. :)

I do think its probably wise to get a screen protector for the back, it is vulnerable to scratches especially as the phone will usually be face up. I don't have one yet but I just had a fast search on the bay and found several sellers advertising back glass protectors.

Mines still got the rear protective film it came with on it, until my cheap silicone case comes that I've ordered for work and then the poetic bumper for when ever else, depending on how I find it when it arrives.
