Id normally agree, but its pretty obvious that the way Google take and dispatch orders aswell as communicate any changes would leave anyone with some doubt whats happening, this thread hasnt swelled due to people talking about the phone, but far more about the lack of communication and/or service provided by Google.
Do Google still have the system in place that you can only cancel an order within a few hours of ordering it? Even if that order is going to take weeks to fulfill?

I currently only get 500MB a month with Vodafone and I have never gone over that, so 1GB is more than enough for me. So I'll save my £2 a month![]()
1. Nexus 5 possibly in May and/or possibly a white version. That's just unconfirmed rumours though. I don't think now is a bad time to buy though - it's a lot of phone for the money.I was looking at this phone im very noobish when it come to phones but i do like the look of this one, some questions though:
1. Is it a good time to buy this phone or is there a nexus 5 coming out soon, or possibly a price drop etc.
2.All ill use it for is calling/texting/checking emails and facebook, what sort of tariff should i be looking at?
3. Screen protector which one?
4. Is this phone a good one to keep for a long time, my current phone is 5 years old.
5. what happens when you finish your contract, do they ring you up asking to renew it, just what happens?
6. Is contract a good idea for someone who plans to keep it long term, its kinda scary doing contract what happens if i lose my job and cant pay for it monthly?

2. Giffgaff £10 deal I guess.
3. Don't know sorry, I never bothered with a screen protector on my iPhone 4S and it hasn't got a single scratch on it. That gorilla glass is tough stuff. Depends how clumsy you are I guess.
4. Yes, it's very quick, and as a Google-branded phone it'll always get the latest updates.
5. The contract just carries on at the same rate until you explicitly ring up and cancel it. You can actually cancel your contract and get a PAC code (to transfer your number) and if you have second thoughts not bother to do anything with it and your contract will carry on as normal. Using the PAC code is what effectively terminates the contract - if you're keeping your number.
6. Don't bother with a contract imo for the N4. If you can afford the handset price you're in the best position to negotiate the cheapest per-monthly cost. You can even go PAYG if you want. Contract prices are typically a lot higher because you're paying off the handset.
Even if you can't really afford the handset you're better off saving up for it instead of getting locked in to a contract. You'd end up paying probably twice the price by the end of it.
Cheers mate thats some really good advice, you couldnt tell me more about paying it out right could you, that sounds the best option.
Agh. Should I change my order to the 8gb? I've only got an 8Gb sd in my Desire HD at the moment. And even so I've got 2 gb free. Help me my friends.

If you really think you can survive with 8GB then go for it. Personally, I'd rather just buy the 16GB and have the space, rather than possibly NEEDING the space in the future and not being able to do anything about it. An extra £40 for a bit more breathing room and futureproofing.
It doesn't sound like you need more than 8GB but then it's hardly huge amounts of money more for the 16GB in case you do need more.
You might get your phone later if you change the order though, so that's worth keeping in mind.
I've never owned a smartphone before, so I'm not sure how much I'd end up using in one month. I use my iPod Touch at the moment, and I cache all my news and RSS feeds to read during much work breaks. I also like to watch a few Youtube videos here and there, though probably won't be more than one a day, if that. The rest I'll be at home on my wifi. Don't really bother with social networks.
Do you guys think 1GB/month would cover that usage?
I use my phone a lot during breaks to browse etc. And when I'm out and about too, and never came anywhere close to 500MB. 1GB is a lot of data to be using a month, especially if you can utilize your home wifi. I tend to update apps etc at home for example.
Quick question, I am thinking of ordering the Nexus 4 after years of having iPhones.
I am halfway through my O2 contract, would I be able to put my iPhone sim in the nexus and then sell my iPhone? Or will O2 have a fit?
does this need a different sim to the Tmobile one I got in my S2 ?
Not sure what your point is, he definitely wanted the phone, but because he didnt trust Googles ordering system because he was aware of all the issues even getting something into your basket and actually ordered he ordered 2, one right away and one a bit later expecting to be able to cancel one once he got confirmation of the order itself via email. My personal opinion is you should make up your mind before you order things if you are really not sure you want it.
I don't see how ordering 2 would guarantee you'd get 1 at all. Again I'll say it after you ordered the first you should have had some restraint to order another. Especially if you have been reading around about the whole process.
It's basically the device's security, you can't root (jailbreak to you I guess) with unlocking it.
When you unlock it, the device also undergoes a factory reset (for security purposes) so it's best to do it as soon as you get the phone so it doesn't annoy you in the future.
