Supplements the debate/discussion thread

I found orange squash from robinsons makes about anything easy to chug (bcaa+leucine) or aakg+beta alanine+citruline malate.
Worth a try for this. I had an email from MP yesterday telling me that mine won't be coming through for another 3-5 days and they apologize and refund my delivery charge.

Oh well at least they kept me updated rather being ignored for 2 weeks.

All I seem to read in this thread is problems with MP!

Strangely, they weren't a problem delivering my OAKG stash. Pleasant surprise.

So they can have some positive vibes from me.

Regarding OAKG and its effects, I have no idea what it did beyond a placebo effect, so I'm going to go with "it just tastes like vomit" as a placeholder conclusion at the moment. :)

I ended up going with IronScience for my last order as MP Price beater wasnt working, that and I got All In One Explosion free with my order.. Can't say no to free items :D

You just do not need any supplements to lose weight. Just hard work.

Agreed...but thermogenic pills can certainly assist in removing body fat.

For example, when cutting, I go through the routine of having my ECA stack. I can certainly cycle/run without it, but having the ECA makes me "believe" that my body is capable of super performance and helps me maintain high intensity, for longer. The caffeine also livens me up (very early in the morning - I hate mornings).

It has also been proven beyond reasonable doubt that ECA stacks work (speeds up metabolism, suppresses appetite).

Is a supplement necessary. No
Is it helpful. Definitely...Absolutely. Yes.

Part of the fascination (and fun) of supplements is that you try them and have fun with them. The earlier posts above talk about using OAKG. Who knows if this will help their performance? But the users above are certainly experimenting to see if it helps.

Above all, remember, what works for 1 person, may not necessarily work for somebody else, so a level of experimentation is required. Once I find a supplement which works, I tend to stay with it. Caffeine is one the best supplements I have ever used and it just so happens to be available cheaply, in supermarkets.

Have you tried using HMB or ZMA?
HMB definitely gives me a deeper sleep, which helps me to recover. And the taste is almost non-existent. ;)

I'm pretty sure you can't be talking about HMB.

HMB tastes like burnt plastic/sweat/tequila.

Also, fat loss supplements? Just no.

Yes that's obvious. However, I just have coffee - I don't like putting unnecessary chemicals into my body.

It has also been proven beyond reasonable doubt that ECA stacks work (speeds up metabolism, suppresses appetite).

So have other "special" supplements, as well as a lot of natural supplements, but also eating well, and doing the right sort of exercise.

Or what's even better is.... follow a healthy lifestyle, and not relying on chemicals to help you lose weight?

1. Agreed.
2. Not that clear cut - "Can be helpful" yes, but it's not an absolute as you say - not by any stretch of the imagination.

Going the "quick win" route is just not the right way of going about it IMO.

IT's good that you're learning about these things - we all did it to a certain extent, some are going further than I'd like to go - but as long as you're aware of what you're doing, and don't think it's a magical solution to problems. However, the research of a lot of these supplements are endless - as many have some which support them and others that show just placebo like effects (i.e. nothing :p). However, everyone responds to things differently, and everyone's diets/lifestyles aren't the same.

Above all, remember, what works for 1 person, may not necessarily work for somebody else, so a level of experimentation is required. Once I find a supplement which works, I tend to stay with it. Pretty obvious :p However, I wish you good fortune on your chemical experimentation. :)

OAKG is utterly pointless.

However, I find the link between OAKG -> HGH increases (over normal) -> ??? Is just lame to leave hanging, particularly where there is such a solid research ase fr bea alanine and creatine protocols.

Is it risky? There is always risk associated with something that tastes of vomit. Is it going to kill me? Well, I drive 74 miles to work each day long te a14 so there are worse ways to go. Otherwise, doubtful.

Still, if there are gainz to be had and no research to prove the hypothesis wrong... Why not?

Bit more expensive than MP but I thought why not their stuff looks to be of good quality and is flavored so it's similarly priced at these offers.

Did try and buy some caffeine from MP on it's own though, went to pay via paypal and it's not available at this time. When is paypal never available? Also the 25% code didn't work so I just left it at that. Their new website is utter mince.

Pretty pathetic really, having a protein shake makes everybody look at you in the office like you're some sort of roid monster destroying his health yet running around for 40km in the heat is good for you and poses no risk at all. ohwait.

Same with the jacked scoop, she probably had a few more which obviously did no favors to a weak heart that went through hell in a silly physical challenge.

Poor choice maybe but I wouldn't call running a marathon a silly challenge.
