Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [9 - 12th March 2013]

Before today's game we had exactly the same amount of points, wins, draws and losses as last season but we're now 3 points better off and have scored 19 more goals in the process. Who said we're struggling for goals this season

It's cringe worthy having Pigeon and Purdy as Liverpool fans. Get behind the team when they're losing and stop being so biased about pens every 5 mins.

Anyway, really enjoyed watching that game with my 2 spurs mates :D A few ups and downs in that game, Liverpool are certainly always interesting to watch at least. The good form continues.

I think that if you compare the exact same fixtures (rather than just after x amount of games), we are quite a few points better off compared to last season.

And Stumble, yea, Pigeon and Purdy are a right couple of whining bitches :p

Except they were penalties and the team was gutless from the 30th minute to the Spurs mistake.

Sturridge hit from behind on calf/heel, flops about like a fish, still a penalty.
Suarez one awarded, massive body check, penalty given.
Glen at the end where he nicked it past Vert and was fouled, was also a penalty.

I get behind the team plenty, when they give me something to get behind not cowardly performances.

As for cringe worthy nice profile

They were penalties you tart but you have to accept that you love a moan regardless. As I said, you're usually complaining before the game's even kicked off.

Yeah, I whine, I get agitated, largely due to nerves of the game, hence posting a lot during a match instead of watching it at times, that said to be called 'cringe worthy' as a fan is a bit insulting from, well whoever my mothers bit on the side is
Also what did I moan about before the game? Our teams inability to deal with pace or the fact Bad Jones was starting?

EDIT: Stewy and Pigeon where have your sigs gone, it cool to not have one now? :(

Yep but when you look at games against the likes of Villa and West Brom at Anfield its easy to assume we'll pick up points when we haven't. Still, with 9 games left we've put ourselves in a great position to get 6th and challenge for 5th.

I've been quite positive this season. Good manager, football's exciting and the club have a clear path moving forward. Haven't felt this positive since 07/08 :)

My signature's still on. You sure you've not got a virus?

Ahhh shut up Purdy, it was only a bit of light hearted banter (from me anyway). Neither you or Pigeon bother me, no matter how much you complain.

edit: to prove my point, Pigeon says this is as positive as he's felt in 5-6 years:
Game over... Jones starts in goal.
:p

We've definitely still got a slip up in us but we looking a far more complete side the longer the season has gone on. The signings of Sturridge and Coutinho have improved the squad far more than I thought they possibly could have. Another addition in attack and a young Sami Hyypia at the back will push us on again (hopefully).

And 5th has become a must imo. I mentioned in the FA Cup thread, the semi-final draw has meant that we're going to need 5th just to get in the Europa now.

I'd dare any Liverpool supporter to say he fills them with confidence but it doesn't mean I want him to fail :p

It's like sitting in the passenger seat of a car driven by a woman.

261 corners since we last scored from one. They're beginning to cause more harm than good now.

Poor delivery but even where it's spot on there's no movement. Revision needed, it's becoming embarrassing. :(

His floated deliveries plain don't work. We haven't got enough height to take advantage of them.

Either he needs to change technique or we change takers, with the way we play short corners or whipped in to the front post are the better option yet every game we persist with the same rubbish.

Good result all the sane and that should be us out of it now, one more win to be sure though :p

just been out for a family meal and after dwelling on things, i'm still gutted and feel a draw would've been a fair result. to lose by a penalty is a wounder.

walker and BAE are complete liabilities at times. i'm not even sure why BAE was where he was to make the foul.

the biggest criminal for me was defoe. shoots when he shouldn't the greedy little git.

the sooner lennon is back, the better as we found it hard to get consistent attacks even though we had a lot of possesion and passing.

if we do beat inter on thursday then i'll be happy but then we'll be nackered for the next game.

starting to feel a little iffy about 4th now but if spurs won the europa cup and finished 5th i'd be happy :D
