parker wasn't that great tbh but dembele was good when he was central. the good thing is that sandro will be back next season so we may never see livermore again (as nice a lad as he is, he's not prem standard) sig did ok in small doses, arguably could've/should've scored. holtby had a 10 min run out and made no impact.
defoe is a joke. i'd rather we stuck bale as striker when lennon is back and have sig left, holtby in the hole.
Personally I'd have this almost completely reversed, Bale constantly shot from stupid positions, Spurs fans bemoaned this quite rightly last year when Harry gave him the freerole, against crap teams he scored, better teams he shot from all over and constantly missed, he's looked significantly less influencial in the past two games, yeah, still goals and assists and still not bad, but less involved and less of a threat throughout.
Defoe SHOULD shoot, remember people complained that Sturridge did at Chelsea when out of position, but given the ball in better positions it both gets goals and scares the defence, causes problems.
Defoe's movement was excellent, one move he ran almost into Dembele but the entire defence went to the side Defoe was running to thinking he'd take the ball and shoot, left a great space for Dembele to shoot, but he missed. If you don't shoot, the defence don't react to you. He was fine today, brilliant, no, but good enough and far better than Adebayor.
AS for Dembele/Parker, Parker drove you forwards on more than one occasion, sometimes running the ball and once with a freaking awesome pass right between about 4 players that led to a good attack on goal. Dembele on the other hand had a few good forward drives, but also frequently passed backwards when you didn't need to, slowed down play, didn't take enough risks going forward. Neither were great, nor poor, and Dembele did some excellent defensive work but he's the more attacking of the two and HAS to push forwards more, the deeper he gets the less position you had and the less meaningful attacks with enough numbers you had. He needs to be occasionally furthers forward, running beyond strikers, coming into the box late. He's good enough offensively, just not getting forward enough for me.
Walker... lol, he can't defend, is rubbish going forward, he's just got that "he's really fast and occasionally runs forwards past several people and looks like he might do something good" thing some players do, but zero quality on the end of it. Spurs need a quality right back to be any good, how often can he be culpable before he gets replaced/dropped.
Daft game, Spurs looked comfortable at 2-1 till a combination of comedy defending let them back in it. I though Lloris was poor for the first goal, poor for the clearance that went no where, why is he trying to put that downfield, blast that for a throw in sideways and almost certainly win that game, not much he could do for the penalty obviously though you always prefer to see a keeper go the right way even if they don't save it.
