How OCD are you when it comes to petrol?

I went through a phase of filling up to an exact amount like £35 a long time ago but don't bother anymore, just fill up.
 
For the first few weeks of opening it, my business account was used only for petrol, having been opened with a rounded figure of cash. I tried for as long as possible to keep it at whole pounds.

I sometimes have to submit receipts for journeys. Utter pain as it needs to be £10 at a time normally, but thankfully only one contract requires me to do this. Other than that it's £20-30 cash which gets me from light on to about full in the Polo, so I go for whole pounds.

I think the only time I've ever brimmed my personal car was when I first got it, to see how much it would cost :D

when you go for £20 say, you might not be 'able' to hit that £20 due to the 'rounding up' of the VAT.
Depending on the daily price of Petrol, some days you will be able to hit it,
some days it will be impossible, as the pump will always round up to £20.01.
this is why sometimes you hit it, and sometimes you don't.

Although I don't have petrol pump OCD anymore you have just made me happy to know it wasn't my fault.
I bet you made it up to make me feel better but even if you did it is now fact.
 
I fill it right up unless its a courtesy car or something. What's the point in putting 20 quid in? Just means you need to visit the petrol station more often.
 
We fill the mini up when its down to 2 cheeses, the mondeo we only stick £20 in every now and again as we don't use it every day, or go very far in it.

The company car I don't even look what it costs, I just fill it up and sign the slip in the garage.
 
Fill it until the pump clicks off. I don't even look at the amount I'm putting in.

I have noticed that it usually clicks off between £30 and £40 if I fill up every Sunday, which I don't think is too bad for 300 miles per week. Usually just above half on the fuel gauge.

Can you explain the rationale for not filling the purpose-built tank for a substance that continuously gets more expensive and you are guaranteed to use?
 
I "brimmed" my tank up last on the 23rd Feb :p Don't care about the nearest whole litre or £ when paying by card.
