Do we have an Evo owners thread?

4 has a weak block due to crankwalk, 5's onwards are fine.

Ah right. Well, I'll see in the future. Really have my heart set on a FD2 in a couple of years time. It'd be difficult to find a 5 in excellent condition as the price may be too much.

I thought about an FD2 but in the end I was put off by the fact that the same year FN2 is half the price (£6k or there abouts saving - you can do a lot to an FN2 for £6k) and the fact that parts for the FD2 can be a nightmare to get hold off (same as most imports I guess). Even worse for the FD2, DC5's can be had for £6k upwards in half decent condition and they can be made something special with the spare change you'd have.

I looked at it from that perspective too. The FN2's are not that bad, but I prefer 5 doors. FD2's are not that common and I generally like the look of them. Then again, you could purchase a higher performance car for half the price of the FD2.

I plan on keeping the ATR for as long as I can. It will need some cash spending on it to bring it to a reasonable condition as I'm picky. I'll have to do it slowly.

I love the look of Evo's but I just can't ever see myself taking the plunge and purchasing one. I feel they're above my weight as of this moment. I'd hate to ever purchase one and only have it for a short while then sell it and purchase a cheap run around. The feeling of having all that power then having nothing would really get me down. :p

235 miles and the fuel light has just come on, though the needle is sat between the 1/4 and empty mark. Will fill up later on and work out the MPG. I assume it's a 50 litre tank on the 9?

Not sure on the tank size on the 9. I know the 10 has a 55 litre tank. Was a slight shock to me doing 230 ish miles to a full tank - my old Diesel did 500 miles to a 50 litre tank :p

Worked it out at 25mpg. Happy with that.

Is it normal that Evo's sit lower at the back than the front?

Yeah 25mpg in an Evo would be well acceptable to me.

Don't think it should sit lower at the back? Would give some weird results with weight transfer, but it may be right. Has it been lowered? Coilovers? If it has coilovers be well worth having it corner weighted with you in the car for the ultimate grip.

Very nice.

Often see a guy around here in a gun metal grey one with carbon fibre splitter, side mirrors and spoiler.

Looks amazing!

Yes, the front arches are higher than the rears so it looks like it is lower at the rear than the front ;)

My dirty VI, was playing with my coilover settings :D
