What film did you watch last night?

Has anyone here seen the remake/prequel to the original John Carpenters Thing?

My mate let it me on DVD as the original is one of my favourite movies but i've just seen the trailer on YouTube and it looks... not very good. He insists it's amazing and I should watch it because they've done an 'amazing job' of the prequel but i'm not too sure.

Should I watch it or will I be forever scarred?

The Dark Knight Rises - 8/10

This was actually more an emotional movie than TDK. Not a better movie, but lots of different themes being played in the story. It's like they got to the loneliness side of Bruce Wayne better than the previous two, and I liked the way it revisits people from Batman Begins.

I actually enjoyed it more this time round (2nd viewing) than at the cinema. I missed so many little details before. I must say Bane sounds more comical this time round though.:p

Iron Man Three 8/10

Overall pretty good

I actually quite liked this one, the mandarin twist was slightly predictable but nice. Killing whatserface wasn't at all surprising, the Pepper twist was again predictable, but I'm still not really sure how I feel about gwynth so not sure whether I liked her having such a world saving roll. Iron Man seemed much more mortal this time. I liked the twist regarding the Vice President. Managed to miss Stan Lee, if someone feels like telling me where he popped up.
There have been rumours that this will be the last Downey Jr Iron Man as his contract with Marvel is up after this film. Whilst the director said otherwise I'm not so sure. RDjr has been a very good Iron Man, but this certainly almost felt like the end. What with the clean slate, and the way the Marvel ending was based around him talking to Bruce Banner but all about the 'listen' concept - very much liked that btw.
I hope it isn't the last Iron Man film. Whilst Downey will clearly return in Avengers (2?) I expect, I feel like he deserves a better final film for iron man, and I'm not quite sure this was it. Yes, it was very good, a good superhero film, and I liked it. It just didn't quite blow me away.

Oblivion - 4.5/10

Mixture of Wall - E and some other films rolled into one. Tries to be shocking and clever and 'outside the box' but seen this type of story line many times before.

Your on the internet and ask questions like that :p

:D

I saw The Last Stand.
I'm surprised this didnt go straight to DVD.
Very average movie. 5.5/10.

I watched Paranormal Activity 4.
Decent.
7/10 for a decent scare factor.
The key to watching these types of movies is to make sure you are alone in the house, with the lights out. If you watch this with someone else, the scare effect is non-existent.

John Dies At the End - 6.5/10

Was hoping for another cult classic as good as Bubba-Ho-Tep but sadly no.

Still enjoyed it tho, a few laugh-out-load moments. Seemed to finish far too quickly, though I will watch it again.

You gave it 3/10 so it can't be that good. It had boobs yes, the Hoff's included. I'm guessing the 3 that you gave it was for the boobs? :-P

I would give it an 8 for sound and visual effects and entertainment value, but yeah it seemed to rip off
Moon
a fair bit in a lot of the concepts.
