Liquid Art: From Mini P180 to infinity...

Update number.... Lost count



After much deciding, I finally decided to take the plunge and move away from my mini P180. Although I will be keeping the case for a future build that I'm planning late this year/next year for a true enthusiast build.

It was a close call between the Parvum Systems S1.0 and the Corsair 350D windowed case. The features and sleek design of the Parvum case finally swung it! Went to OCUK and bought the case as well as a bitspower 80mm Z-multi reservoir and a few XSPC compression fittings.

I didn't take any build photo's but I do have the pictures of the completed build. The case is a pleasure to build in, though abit cramped. Once everything is in, it looks stunning! It could do with a little more lighting inside so looking at getting a LED strip to light the middle of the case up abit more.

There was a few bumps along the way, first a broken mid wall/motherboard tray which was done most likely during transit from manufacturer to ocuk (as we know couriers don't care about the products and parcels they carry!). But both ocuk and parvum were quick to replace my broken and missing parts and even compensated me for the damages! Parvum also gave me a gift as a gesture of good will for the damages and missing fan grills! Best customer service someone could hope for! I am very very pleased with both companies and I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants to build or buy from both these companies with ease of mind.


A few things about the case:


The Good

  • It's very solid and finger mark proof!
  • Compact and light weight
  • Made from very high grade acrylic
  • Matte finish
  • Customizable to your hearts content!
  • Smooth and stylish looks
  • Watercooling ready
  • Comes with extra screws and also Fan grills made from Acrylic
  • Power switch comes sleeved and pre wired, all you have to do is plug the connectors in
  • Good cable management and plenty of space for cables behind the mid-wall


Things to consider

  • Sharp corners so becareful when handling it
  • Needs storage fixtures to mount hard drives and SSD's
  • Power LED plug should be split so it can work with all types of motherboard front panel connectors.
  • Maybe include fans of some sort for such a high end case, 1 exhaust, 1 inlet?


As you can see the con's aren't anything too bad! The pro's outweigh the con's by a lot and since it's a new company still i'm sure the above things can be easily worked out over time.


Now for the completed switch over pictures. These are new pictures I took tonight with the adjusted camera settings on my SLR. Still can't quite get the settings right because the red is still to bright.















More updated day time pictures to come and more close ups! Will also take a few of the cable management round the rear.

Thanks mate, yeah i've been wanting to for awhile but the Mini p180 has always swayed me back. I finally took the step though and moved out of it. The case just needs a few mods now to make it my own. Thinking about engraving and a few cut outs.

My current pump is a Swiftech DDC 1T 10w with a Petra-tech Delrin top. It's pretty much silent compared to my old EK2.2 which was a bit rattly.

It wasn't too weak for a gpu and cpu loop but the flow is much better with this ddc.
 
:) your son has good taste! Hope the pics inspires the creative mind to one day create something similar to this.


I have updated the pictures since I've now changed the fans for the Enermax Clusters instead of the corsair SP's. Really wanted more LED lighting and since corsair don't do LED fans at the moment im going to stick with them for the time being.
 
Looks fantastic man :) I really like what you've done with the lighting.

Do you have the Clusters hooked up to a fan controller? Does the intensity of the light vary with the RPM?

Hi there,

No I don't, I have them plugged into the board and controlled via Asus Ai Suite Fan Xpert2 where I can adjust the fan speeds and setup profiles. The LED's don't adjust with the intensity of the RPM, they are either on or off :).

Do it! The joy of these cases is it's completely customizable by it's original makers. Anything you want can be done and at a fairly decent price as well. Things like cutout logo's and designs, window frosting designs and even the panels themselves can be made to order if you give them an e-mail. I'm currently looking at replacing a few panels myself for smoked Perspex ones so you can see into the case from more than one angle. Also because cable management is so good on these cases, you don't have to worry about people looking into it and seeing all the mess!

The LED intensity will dim when lowering the RPM, I found this pretty nice. Suppose if you want to turn the fans down its in the evening so lowering the light a little then was nice for me.

Jay, you did the old P180 mini justice.

Your new rig looks INSANE - i've just finished my new build, and already want to change as a result of yours.... haha.

Does it? I swear it doesn't dim with the rpm. Whether i ramp them up or down they still stay at the same brightness.

I will be in contact soon, i just need to do some more planning to get all the panels in the correct colour.

I do miss the P180 mini, i wish they remade it with watercooling support out of the box. I would surely get one again for another build.

Jeci, if you ever feel the urge to get a parvums case.. don't hesitate! I will give you a hand for the build if you need it :). Surprisingly this case keeps dust out better than my old case lol

I'm using 16/10mm tubing at the moment but I think I could go smaller however I wouldn't due to the heat making the tubing less rigid and sagging. In the tight corners.. I doubt you could go above 16/10mm to be honest.
