I was playing with the new flash earlier. I really need my shoulder to get fixed quickly; the 5dmk3, battery grip and flash is VERY heavy. Longer shutter speeds are a no no (as in curtain shots) as I can't keep the camera still with this knackered shoulder of mine

Still, it's much nicer than I thought it was going to be. They've really come a long way since the horrid things my dad used in the late 70s/early 80s

A few as it's for work, but need a medium zoom for photography. Currently have 2x Sigma 10-20mm, 2x Canon 50mm 1.4, 1x 100mm Macro and 1x 70-200mm 2.8.

Trouble with it being for work is the cost needs to be justifiable and £1,750 for the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II for example just isn't at the moment.

Work as in saying its your wedding videography? This is your full time job right?

The 24-105 is very very nice for videography I think. In fact, I think all of drevs stuff is shot with one (I vaguely recall Kai saying this in the 24-70f4 review)

Certainly worth considering given the price...

I'm sure it is but I like primes for filming (or at least being one end or the other) so the shot perspective doesn't change constantly. £2k also knocks the profit out of 3/4 weddings, and we'd need two. And I don't think it would add a massive amount to our films vs the price.

Certainly be looking to get one for photography, the 2.8 though.

Well, had the Sony a65 over a week now, and while initially had some reservations, the guys on dp forums helped me realise that it was partly me doing things wrong.... anyway!

Bought the 50mm and Sigma 18-250mm last week, and only just today received the Sigma 150mm macro and 17-50mm f2.8 - Here's the stuff!

Can't believe I spent as much on a single lens as I did on the 150mm, but for some odd reason, it felt like good value for money at £715 inl postage.

Not done a lot of playing with the two I got today yet, but am pleased with the 18-250mm for being an all-in-one.

But have no love for the 50mm Sony. May send that one back and get something that feels a bit nicer in the hand - I like my lenses to feel nice as well as take nice pics

The 2x converter actually provides far better images than I expected. But I am unsure if it is faulty - the two sony lenses will not auto-focus, but the sigma lenses all do...

Some lovely Sony gear there eyetrip.

I use the 50mm SAM on my A77 and have no issues with it's quality at all although if you plan on replacing it I'd recommend the Sigma 50mm f1.4 over the Sony 50mm f1.4 as the Sony version is cack.

Sony's SLT's are particularly good for macro and should go well with that 150mm, learn how to use focus peaking in live view and you'll never look back. It's such an under estimated feature and Sony really don't shout about it enough.

Yeah, despite initial reservations, am growing to really like the a65.

Sure, there's plenty of quirks, but so far, things just seem to work, unlike the Samsung!

The sensor may not be as good as that in the NX300, but I have kind of made up for that loss now by getting better glass.

And by the time I get an ultra-wide, it won't have cost much more than the NX system.

So far, very happy!

On the 50mm, perhaps I should just stick with it. It's picture quality is pretty decent, apart from awful CA, but hell, it was only £100. Will see by the end of week.

Anything built after a certain date seems to have the new cap, even on all lenses, but my Dec 2012 100-400 didn't come with one.

Anyone submitted a cashback request through Canon recently? Just wondering what the general turn around time is. It's all gone through for my flash and I've logged into the site, but bizarrely despite being authorised for payment it's showing that they're sending the cheque to me on 2/7/13. What the hell is that about? It's exactly 28 days after submission, and they say they'll send the cheque within 28 days. Is this just their website showing the info in a weird way?

It doesn't make much difference as I know I'm getting it, I'm just wondering when
