***The Official HTC One Thread***

I'm pretty sure it said you were invalidating your warranty simply by unlocking the bootloader using the tools provided by the HTC dev website?

As in the site knew you'd done it?

I mean to be fair I doubt very much that HTC or anyone for that matter is so joined up to know or even so motivated to care, I don't recall ever seeing someone getting refused warranty service due to rooting/flashing etc.

All the site knows is that it's generated an unlock.bin. It doesn't know you've actually put it on your phone. Using it voids your warranty. However, using s-off you can remove all the flags that show the bootloader has been tampered with so they have no way of knowing you've unlocked it. So your warranty should remain intact (as far as they're concerned).

Sheesh, HTC UK tweeted they have a big announcement today, I thought it was the 4.2.2 update. Instead, they announced the red HO exclusively from P4U: http://www.slashgear.com/htc-one-glamour-red-edition-official-hits-uk-next-month-27288240/

I must say it looks pretty nice... But I still prefer the black over it ;).

Nexus 4 to HTC One with GPe ROM worth it?

Slightly smashed the back of my phone, and it is bugging me.

I went from the N4 to HTC One. But not the GE version, I have to say I really do like the phone.

The screen is definitely a marked improvement over the N4, Speakers well I can't really say anything other than they should be standard on all phones now. Obviously you get more storage than the N4 too which is a bonus. The camera is definitely an improvement too.

I don't find Sense as bad as I thought I would either certainly prefer it over Touchwiz it is pretty light compared, I have tweaked a few things with Trickdroid ROM so it isn't too far off stock Android, Status bar & a few other thigs. But if I miss anything at all it is the software & as soon as I can get a smooth build of stock Android it'll be on there no doubt. Also I kinda miss the front tapered edges of the screen, Although it does have this on the back which I like it makes holding the phone with one hand a lot easier.

Would I say it is worth £300+ more though I don't know especially if it is a GE version. You will miss some nice bits from Sense mainly the Camera software if anything.

To mix it up a bit heres a Gold one:

Boot animation, camera + gallery app, and the live wallpaper from the GE can be found here: http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...a-from-google-play-edition-devices-root-only/

I tested the camera app, and first thing I noticed was that it was more laggy than the sense camera. However, it did focus on things much faster. The new menu for the camera settings are a bit fiddly to use, it's better than the current circle on the Nexus devices, but it seems to go to the next semi circle a tad too fast for my liking.

Just flashed Bigxie's GE Rom and getting loadsa keyboard problems. Gonna give the TrickDroid GE ROM a go.

EDIT: Same problem with the keyboard as with Bigxie's ROM. Ah well, will wait for someone to fix it.

I have a Nexus 4 and every time it comes out now it gets put away again soon. The One is a better phone in every single way, other than it's harder to get custom ROMs on there.

What problems with the Keyboard? I have no problems at all.

So heres another picture using the GE camera, Only setting changed was scene & that was set to night for some reason, Think I forgot to turn it off when I was trying to take a picture outdoors but the rain was destroying any picture taken. Not the best of pictures but gives you an idea. Yes portrait sucks! :p

I also tried to use NFC/Android Beam with the two phones & it wouldn't share anything for some reason, Although I have never got it to work on previous phones either.

Speakers sound basically the same as Sense really, Maybe a little less bass than the Trickdroid 8.0 ROM but still good none the less.

I'll attempt to get a decent daytime photo tomorrow at some point.

Has anyone's camera stopped working?

I tried to take photos at my son's sports day and it won't focus. When I tap the screen the lighting adjusts but not the focus. Therefore every photo is blurry and I can't take any useful shots at all.

I've checked all settings and everything is as it was the day before when it worked perfectly.

Any ideas?

Posted this a few days ago, any ideas?

The latest HTC Sync update has made the program stop recognizing my phone.

Trying a fresh re-install of it to see if it makes a difference for it.

Worked fine up to the update last night.

edit: Re-installed all of the drivers and software. Working fine again.Getting Error 1016...

Fixed. Never click to backup 'people' it seems. That caused my error, as well as being reported on one of the xda help threads I had found. <-- actual help I posted there ;)

There is some fantastic photos in there Ryan, I put it down to me sucking at taking pictures :D

Although that isn't the sense camera taking mine, I'll need to restore my Trickdroid Sense nandroid & see how they compare.

Hehe, I often took the same picture ten times till it was 'better' :p

edit: More pictures going on every so often ;) - once you get used to the camera, you seem to be able to get it to work for all sorts of photo's, and Normal seems to cover 90% of the photo's you take :p

So I've managed to get 3:13 hours screen on time with 34 hours off charge to me that's good?!

Using 11. Android revolution ROM...

Not bad really about the same as what I am getting but I absolutely hammer it now because the speakers are fantastic for watching youtube videos with.

Is that primarily on data network or wifi?
