***The Official HTC One Thread***

Just follow what I put up earlier, and get 4.2.2 now :)

Will add a few more pictures to my link from before too, but the camera is certainly improved over 1.28

I'm guessing there's no way to root the phone without unlocking the bootloader? - edit, guess not. Thanks HTC.

Would have been nice to do a TiBackup.

Yup, this is frustrating ^^
I would like root so as to fully use Titanium, but don't really want to faff with bootloader etc. :(

After waiting ages for EE to update the software, I took the plunge and installed a custom Stock-based firmware!

I ended up rooting it too so that I could install Cerberus properly.

I have no idea don't really care about warranty just wanted my phone to be the way I wanted it to be & to get the latest updates cause Three suck :p

I'm worried about warranty because of the amount of issues the phone can potentially have.

Same reason I want to flash mine though. Stupid three. :)

The sound is improved on 2.17 too!

I'm not sure when these are officially out, most seem to be 1.29 when using OTA updates.

I seemed lucky when I got my one as a lot who got them had problems, but my only little problem (home button stop responding) seems to have vanished after updating from 1.28.

Sorry for the silly question. Is that a new firmware version? I thought we were only up to 1.29.x?

2.** is for Android 4.2.2, it's not officially released yet. The ones custom ROMs are using are based off leaked ones. Apparantly according to XDA, 2.21 is floating around as well.

Anyone using the official Car Kit (D160) on there HO?
Just ordered one, as finally found it sub £30 (tight git!) and the built-in SatNav in my Saab is slowly dying.....kind of a stop-gap until I replace the car in a few months :D

Any reason you went for that specific one instead of a universal car mount such as one of these?

Does the offical car kit have some extra features specific to the HO?

As above, I like the fit and feel of the official unit - way ahead of generic type units - and also the Car mode switching. @ £50 rrp it was too much, but with the price as now it becomes much more easily justified for the few months I will need it :)

I am hoping to be offered an early upgrade from Vodafone, but am curious just how much 'customisation' Vodafone make to the firmware, or whether they do in fact just use 'stock' ROM's.

What are other members experiences here... assuming of course that some folk have actually received their HTC One's directly from Vodafone?
