The Last Of Us

You'll have to make a EU account to redeem the pass from an EU copy. You'll get the same issue with DLC if you choose to buy it (will need redeeming on EU account). Might be better to just sell it & buy US copy, especially as EU multiplayer is censored and is being covered up by ND + news sites.

Covered up? It's some death animations, nothing to be bothered about.

Yeah covered up.

So what if it's only death animations, it's still censored and people have a right to know and decide whether it bothers them or not. If it's not a big deal, then why not come out and say it, oh yeah, it might effect sales as people don't want a censored version because of the Germans.

Plenty of sites reported on the Fire Emblem DLC censoring Tharja's butt in the NA copy. Funny that, something even less than this is reported, while this goes completely ignored.

So either it's covered up as it doesn't effect NA or it's covered up as Last Of Us is Sony and Naughty Dogs baby.

Shelton Benjamin (the wrestler) has played through this game three times. He said he didn't sleep much when it came out.

Not like anyone cares but hey-ho.

Still not sure how that qualifies as a "cover-up". It's more likely that gaming sites either don't know about it, or don't feel it's important enough to report. The idea that they've all conspired together not to report an issue at Sony/ND's behest is rather silly.

If the gore had been censored in the single player I think you'd have seen a lot more fuss made, but evidently people aren't that bothered. Likelihood is they haven't even noticed.

Don't get me wrong, the game shouldn't have been censored for the UK market, but anyone choosing not to buy the game just because heads don't explode in the multiplayer clearly has bigger issues to deal with.

Question:

I have EU version of game and US PSN account.

Can i buy from US Playstation Store season pass + network pass?

So damn hard to find US version of game in EUROPE.

Right, so they don't find the whole of multiplayer being censored, enough to report. Yet they are happy to report this

So one single picture in the whole DLC is enough to report on, but the whole of multiplayer is not.

Twisted Metal PS3, reported as being censored. All that is cut is a small bit in the fmv.

They know and there is plenty of fuss being made, where it needs to be.

Plenty of people there have reported it, the sites simply choose to ignore it.

So it's just coincidence that other, far minor cuts have been reported, yet the whole multiplayer being censored on Sony's big hit game is not. Pure coincidence.

People not buying it because of censorship have bigger issues? Really, because you don't find it a problem and are happy with an inferior version, those that are not have issues?

No, won't work. EU store for EU game.

Well yes, of course it is. Unless you're suggesting that every big gaming news site is in Sony's pocket, which is obviously ridiculous.

If the decision to buy a game is made solely on the fact that you don't get to see heads blown open in multiplayer then yes, issues aplenty.

As I said, I don't agree with censorship and it would be worth news sites covering it to avoid it happening in future, but the single player was left intact so for the majority, that's really the important thing.

Its more the case its much more newsworthy and silly to censor an anime girls bum than it is to censor an overly bloody death animation primarily due to German law...

Its unfortunate it affects us, but I can see why one is more newsworthy than the the other...

Not directly in their pocket, but they won't want to rock the boat. Won't get invited to the next big game preview/exclusive etc.

Choosing to buy it supports censorship. You're basically saying it's ok to give us an inferior version, we don't mind.

Polygon clearly didn't mind when they gave it a 7.5, nor did they report on its massive sales when other sites were. You'd think then that they'd be first in line to mention some negative press for it to uphold their viewpoint, and yet...

Choosing to buy it supports the developers who worked on the damn thing for years. As already said, it'd be a different story entirely if the single player had been censored, or if more drastic cuts had been made e.g. who sections edited etc. A bit less gore in the multiplayer isn't going to be missed by many people, as is evident by the fact that nobody else here has seemingly even noticed.

In this specific instance, it doesn't bother me in the least. The brutality of the violence in the single player served the narrative; reading the thread you've linked to, people only seem to want the added gore in multiplayer so they can watch heads explode.

Hope it's more mp maps, and while their at it they may as well take downtown out as it's virtually never voted for.

Finally got round to trying out multiplayer last night!

I'm surprised how enjoyable I found it lol. I honestly thought it was going to be a poorly thought through add on.

Finally completed the story. Must admit I just wanted it to end. The story itself was great, but the last couple of levels were very similar albeit in different settings.

Still, enjoyed it and my first ever completed game on PS3. Pretty miffed I got only 3 trophies and 5% ...
