There's no way they'll release an 'alternate' ending, it'd break the story of the actual game. Sounds like they're just going to explain/show-off some content that was cut.
just completed the game, couldn't put it down really enjoyed it i did have one gripe with the game personally don't know if anyone else agrees but mine was...
There are only 3 types of zombies i was expecting a big boss type zombie or big monster later in the game maybe in the sewers or something or like a resident evil nemisis type zombie which you kind of battle once (the mutanted clickers) and 5 times later in game but one you can run away from and others are easy to kill especially with flamethrower i was expecting a least one bigger zombie and a different challenge as i began to find the same bad guys abit boring towards the end of the game any one else agree?
I just can't get into this - I've only got it for another week or so before I sell the PS3 and I just can't find the inclination to complete it.
Perhaps this is the wrong thread to ask if it gets better... but I'm currently at the bit where...
(as if it's a spoiler to anyone in this thread, but just in case)
... we bump started a van, dropped off the old man and then crashed in an ambush off the highway. Done the first section of that, but I just find it... dull.
Loads of things annoy me about it - it seems to just lack polish in certain area. The AI is terrible... I'm creeping around all quiet and the AI is dancing around me with clogs on - the Clickers don't hear them apparently, but I move slightly fast, and they're on me!!
Just odd things like that annoy me, and the gun play (when I can't avoid it) is dire. Story seems interesting, and the humour is nice, but that isn't going to make me want to finish it.
Just played this for a while and its every bit as good as the reviews say it is.
Loving the atmosphere and its nice not to be playing a run and gun game lol. Loving the stealth aspects and the story so far.
First game iv really bothered to get into on my ps3 since metal gear solid 4 lol.
Are the uncharted games worth checking out aswell? I know they have great reviews aswell but i never bothered with them apart from a demo of the first one.
I'm near the end now, and I have loved it, but it has turned into a bit of a boring shootout tbh(I'm at the hospital, and all enemies seem to know exactly where I am at all times, and as I shotgun them to the face, they just laugh it off and continue to run at me)
It is a very good game, certainly a lot better than the Uncharted series. A nearly great game, let down by a few limitations in its mechanics and gameplay.... Oh, and QTEs obviosuly
Just this minute completed it. Will collect my thoughts and put together a review, but overall I loved it, even if I felt it was too linear in the story. Probably a 9/10.
Now the question is, do I sell it on, or keep it for dlc(assuming it isn't some crappy mp pack?)
There's going to be one SP DLC and two or three MP ones I think.
I'm keeping it - I'll wait a while and play SP again. not keen on the MP. Games this good, I like to keep on my shelf - gives the developers full money that way.

Agreed. I was so engrossed in the story by then I could forgive it just about anything. Ultimately all games require some suspension of disbelief, and if the story doesn't grab you there's no way you'll see past the inevitable weaknesses.
Maybe I was just lucky. The more cautious you are as a player, the fewer annoying AI habits you see. I think playing most of it on Easy helped too. That might be worth trying, actually. Then the gameplay issues might not be such a problem and he might stand a better chance of getting into the story.
I enjoy a tightly controlled tale, and the reason Last is so good is that they control things very tightly indeed! But it's not always a perfect recipe, both here and in titles like HL2. I was really disappointed by HL2, and found it distinctly average & forgettable. I'm never going to forget Ellie & Joel's journey though.
