This is the start of the end... lol.. well I hope not.

Seems my intake is quite good today. (I know put it as yesterday, cos I logged yesterdays after midnight so did it on today in error - so they are both reversed)

never made a soup but there's stuff on youtube about it

nice bunch of food you've bought :D

Thanks, I've never been determined to lose weight before like this. Anyway was going to go for a light jog today, but my legs ache from yesterday, so saving it till Thursday now I think. MY body needs to adjust to the exercise. I'm going Thursday hopefully to sign up and use it, then I intend to go on Sundays and Tuesdays and Thursdays from then onwards.

Soup is easy and rewarding. Gently soften veg in a saucepan with butter, add herbs and seasoning as required.

If you want a broth-ey type of soup, just make sure you've chopped your veg and/or meat into appropriate sizes. Add stock (I always use chicken) and you're done.

You can tweak it almost infinitely.

Do I just add the veg chopped up into small ish pieces and bit of butter and cook at the low-medium temp in water for a few hours etc, maybe adding a few herbs into the mix?

well today I joined the gym.

Eased it gently. 30mins on the running machine. Burnt 250 cal, doing 4km, then did 20mins on the bike machine burning 150 cal, doing 8km The bike was too easy at lvl 1, i turned it up to lvl 7 too..
Tried the skiing runner thingy, whatever it is called, but my legs were mashed by them, so that was it. I gave up!

Food today was Apple juice for brekkie
Mushroom omlette for lunch. 3 eggs cooked in a dash of olive oil. Can of coke.
Apple as a snack this afternoon.
Dinner was lettuce, cucumber, tomato, red pepper and new spud salad with baby prawns and a lime dressing. and a can of sprite zero.

I had quite a big portion cos the gym made me really hungry

Dude, Cut the sugary drinks, I couldn't believe how much difference it made when I just drank water. Also, I wouldn't rely too much on what the gym equipment says you have burnt, just know that it aids your weight loss but, the real work is diet.

Have you considered lifting weights as part of your weight loss scheme. I'm not sure if this is accurate but, I believe that a person with high bodyfat will gain better results from weightlifting than a totally cardio based program. Its also a lot more fun.

This. Check out Chris1712's log, pretty awesome IMO.

The reason I'm still on the sugary drinks is that I buy 24 packs of Coke from a cash and carry. So they are already in my house, I am still drinking them until they have run out, but once they have gone. I intend to go to the same cash and carry and buy a bulk pack of bottled flavoured water instead.

I am not throwing out the coke I have as it is a massive waste. I know its not great, but tbh I was drinking 5-6 cans a day before I decided to lose weight, I'm now down to 2. I also think that cutting out 5-6 cans of coke immediately is not good, as the addictive nature of the caffiene I need to ween off.

for brekkie i had porridge with 1 teaspoon of jam
lunch today was a chicken caesar salad
and dinner was this.... grilled fish

Go sugar free if you need flavour in your drinks.

5/6 cans of coke a day is asking for trouble on the diabetes front.

Typically 3 cans of coke is 400 calories odd, just think that can be equivalent to a small meal.

Hence, why I weening myself off it!

Missed this. Don't know if it's still relevant...

Aim to soften the veg in the butter, and then finish it off after the stock is added.

Alternatively, leave it at just softened and stick it in a blender.

Loads of good recipes around for soups. My currently staple is a chicken and veg broth.

Well I have used all the salad and veg stuff I bought on Monday, so now I need to go get some more (I still have some mushrooms left thats it)

I'm going to try making a Mango, broccoli & ginger soup today :) Says only 233cal.

I will give feedback later.

Just been to the gym, did 30mins on exercise bike and 30mins on the running machine. Totalling about 350-400 cal according to the machines.

Today I've had a pot noodle for lunch lol
Prawn and Mushroom Salad with lime dressing sauce for dinner.
Didnt have brekkie as I didnt get up till 11:40.

Had 1.5 cans of coke today and 2 bottles of water.

I will have an apple later if I get peckish.

The plan for tomorrow. Normally a roast beef dinner with about 8 large roast spuds cooked in duck fat and loads of beef gravy with roasted veg and some boiled veg and a big yorkshire pud.

We are having a beef dinner, but my plan is to do some sweet potato mash instead of roast spuds and the usual veg just boiled. No yorkie! Dunno about gravy, is that quite fatty (I cook the beef in a big cassorole dish with hot water poured over it before I put it in the oven, so effectively boil the beef, but then I use the water with all the juices for the gravy, I assume that is quite fatty and calorific?

No gym today, but I did do a 2.6 mile walk in 57mins, burning 350 calories according to runkeeper :)

Brekkie - Mushroom omlette
Lunch - Roast Beef, Mash Sweet potato, 1 x new potato, carrots, broccoli and a small amount of gravy! (NO roast spuds, NO yorkshire pud)
Milkyway cake bar (only 110 calories)
Drinks - 2 cans coke

Going to make the mushroom soup in about an hour.
