lol tvlicensing

They don't my letters say "the occupier" the last one said someone would be coming around he can come in if he does but he's not getting my name or looking at my browsing history which is non of his business

Or you could just ask him to leave before you call the police because of an intruder on your property? :p

The OP shows "Dear Sir/Madam".

We need a good TV Licence riot.

oh on the letter it says Dear sir/Maddam but the letter is addressed to "the occupier"

TBH I doubt I will ever see anyone as the communal entrance has a magnetic lock and the police are always trying to get in without anyone opening the door for them so some random TV license guy has no chance

This guy on youtube who had been making videos about tv license. Had just about had enough. So he sent them a letter to tvl and told them that he has cut his ariel and do no need a tv license. This is after years of just closing the door in their face. They wanted to come around and investigate as they do. He let the guy in. The guy then went through his house for 30 mins, even went in the back garden, for unknown reason, then he started searching his computer. He left and the bbc took him to court, claiming he just cut the cable before they arrived. He spent £1000s in court fees to fight them. The bbc faked evidence and even in spite of the inspector denying the evidence was correct. The judge through the case out. Just shows you think you are doing the right thing and then they just lie to generate more revenue more commission.

I already was sceptical about letting them search my house etc but now there is no chance.

I'm sceptical of your story.

Link removed due to swearing.

Here is another anti tvl guy who is interviewing the guy who had the issues in court on the phone. Sorry if there is swear word, didn't notice any first time i listen to it, just normal conversation from what i remember.

House search is ridiculous. Computer search takes the biscuit...

yup computers are very personal theres no way someone is looking at whats on mine , where I have cookies for etc...

if I really wanted to watch the bbc live I would just dual boot and hide the bootmenu from bootup...... or just set my browser to incognito

I personally stopped watching TV a year or so ago. However, the whole concept of having a license for a TV is quite ridiculous. It should be like any other service, if you want it, you subscribe to it. Instead they try and force it down peoples throats, to pay bloated exec and celebrity wages.

I watch TV, but purposefully not the BBC purely for this. There is no way on this earth I will pay for a service that can be had for free on any browser or wifi enabled phone (iPlayer for example). It is disgusting, I would rather adverts like every other channel that doesn't demand money

Dont have one currently and prob never will again
Havent watched live tv for last three years. Had loads of letters and visits but have refused to assist them in their quest to sell me one mainly on the grounds of the tone and content of their correspondence. First guy I spoke to was told to call after five as I was in the obliging period and was in a hurry to collect my son from school. Did they call after five-nope three visits at round about noon. And also still the ever more threatening letters. At that point I decided nof to be helpful anymore.
Havent had a letter or visit for a while but no doubt its not too far away from starting all over again.

Most of the posts I have seen in this thread are along the lines of "I know I could spend 1 minute to fill in a form online to stop these letters being sent to me. Letters which mean nothing and could just be put in the bin but annoy me anyway. I won't fill this form in because I refuse to give them my information as they have no right to know it."

Well, I just had a look at the online declaration form. Name is optional. Phone number is optional. Email you could just use anything, or if you wan't a temporary email from some website that lasts an hour. The only other information asked for was the address, which if they are sending you letters they clearly have already. The only information they gain from you is that you don't need a TV license so no need to keep sending letters.

So frankly the argument of not spending 1 minute to stop all the letters because they have no right to your details is complete ********.

Smash their windows in arknor.

There's actually a BBC building about a mile from me unless they moved.

I should go round with a DIY tv license detector and claim they have no license they need to pay me or I will send the biohazard round

erm you fill that in and they expect to send goons around to search your property..
check one of the above videos where they made up evidence and got chucked out of court
IF SKY OR VIRGIN COME TO YOUR HOUSE AND DEMAND TO KNOW WHY YOU DON;T HAVE THEIR SERVICE WOULD YOU JUST HAND OVER YOUR DETAILS TO THEM?

I HAVE NO SERVICE FROM THE BBC THEY DO NOT NEED TO KNOW WHO I AM

I have filled in that form before, no people ever appeared at my property, no further letters were ever sent, no personal details were ever given. Literally just gave them fake email, house number and post code so no new information and never heard anything from them again.

Fair enough if you won't give them any details out of principal, I agree that you should not need to give them any as they have no right to it. But since you can stop all the letters without giving them any info then to me it would save me more time than putting their letters in the bin by filling in the form.

If sky came to my door and asked why I didn't have their service, I would say I don't want it and close the door - which is pretty much the same thing as filling in this form.
