New ROBOCOP

How can anyone call the original crap is a mystery. Either they're too young or just don't know film :p

^^ Well to be fair, we've not seen the remake yet... You never know, it might be OK!?

I'd take that bet for a dollar! It will be utter trash and we all know it! :D

Indeed, the original still holds up well today when watched in the right context.

Can you fly Robbie? ;) (see what I did there!)

LOL I should not laugh but my daughter hated this bit! took years before she would even entertain this film because of "Jelly Man"

As been said already! One of the best death scenes ever lol. Imagine being Boddicker and having to wash all that off the 6000SUX lmao.

Even a PG13 could at least look gritty if they wanted. The trailers make it look like a bloke in a kevlar suite. Its meant to be ROBOcop !

The original was violent and gritty and offered a great atmosphere to the story line.

We used to call

the old man funny names.

"Iron Butt."

"Boner."

Once I even called him...

..."*******."

But there was always respect.

I always knew

where the line was drawn.

And you just stepped over it,

buddy-boy.

"hahaha iiiid, buy that for a dollar"

I cant believe they have remade it

just utter trash, same as Miami vice, conan the barbarian, total recall ect ect

and the karate kid, they keep churning out this tripe, originals are best

cheap and easy cgi too, same as Disney/Pixar crap too lazy to draw properly:(

Yep, you can make a film as pretty as you like with cgi, but more often than not you lose the soul of it in the process.
Sure, a lot of it looks dated these days, but I'd rather have memorable content over pretty visuals.

The Thing, Star Wars, Total Recall, Robocop etc all prove this point. Hell, even Superman.

ED: Though you could argue that poor direction is the real issue. That, and making certain films more family friendly for the sake of bigger potential box office/audience figures.

I wonder if they will do a special cinema re-release of the original shortly before the release of the new film? I would so pay to go see that, wherever it was playing in the UK. Ghostbusters, Back To The Future, Jurassic Park, and (briefly) Raider of the lost Ark had re-releases, so there is a chance it could happen someday.
