Think I'll be getting the 13" rMBP - 2.4Ghz, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. I'm fairly sure I don't need the 16GB, but I don't know whether it's worth the extra £80 for the 2.6Ghz processor.
You would be better off with the 16gb.

Ordering anything pricey from Apple online is always such a pain in the arse. Ordered online, Apple phone me from Ireland and unfortunately I miss the call. They don't leave a message and ringing the number only gives a recorded message of "Apple tried to call you. Good bye.". Phone their sales number and they can't help.
Thankfully they phoned back about six hours later and wanted to make sure that it wasn't a fraudulent purchase. They must have to call practically every customer who orders a Mac!
Anyone who's got their's having any freezing problems? Reading on the official Apple forums lots of people complaining about this, especially with the 13" model.
Hoping to get the 13" base model on Monday.

Macs freeze?
This will be my first mac, happy windows user for god knows how many years. Never had a crash/freeze since Windows 7! You have me worried now, especially since I am about to spent £1,700!
Same as me, first mac, always used Windows.

Ordered the top spec 15" rMBP. Should be a nice upgrade from the 2010 13" MBP I use every day for development.
I was tempted by the 1TB flash upgrade but it's just crazy money.

Ordered a new top spec 15 inch 2013 Model. Shoved my old 2012 rMBP on the members market.
Looking forward to the new one so I can buy some 4k monitors.
How many can the top end MBP support? Is it limited to 1 monitor per port, or can you daisy them?
Dude, you just saved me from a £1,700 headache!
will be keeping my PC for a bit longer, couldn't find half the software I used for OS X either. Perhaps a blessing in disguise
actually, I told a lie. I did buy a Mac about ten years ago and returned it after a month. Seems they haven't really come on a lot since then, as my research seems to tell me they are really lacking in software applications. Really wanted a new toy as well![]()
First impressions are;
- Screen is beautiful.
- The OS feels like it has a little bit of lag, coming from a Macbook Air 12'. Specifically, in 'About this mac - more info' clicking between the tabs the information lags. I've got the 2 side by side, it doesn't lag at all on the air. It's minor, but it's something i've noticed.
- The difference in screen real estate is very noticeable, i'm not sure I like itThink i'll use the scaled display and see how it feels.
- The mag safe 2 is just as crap on both. Whoever designed this thing should be shot.
It seems the 13" pros are having issues, 15's seem unaffected, though the 15's had issues last year.
