X games are basically a space game sandbox where you trade,mine,fight and build your space empire. The game world aint built around the player, you really are a tiny tiny cog in this game. Every npc has a purpose they could be trading themselves and if you destroy them then it can affect the economy.
You can do trading, so buy a 100 water purifiers and sell them for profit at another station. You could be evil and destroy any trade ships that are going to that particular space station and that would bump up the sell value on water purifiers.
Combat looks a lot more insane in this game with huge battles going on. You might of not even started it, infact you might not be in that start system and when you come back there might be on going fights. Like I said this game aint been made around you.
There is an optional story mode (like elder scroll games) to play that's meant to be good for new comers as its got a tutorial. This game has been made more accessible for new comers. Don't get me wrong its still complex, but they made it easier to understand. Infact you can play this game with an xbox controller. Theres a video on it worth watching, im gonna be playing it with a controller and sit back and relax as I build my trading empire:D
 
Everyone got this on pre-order?

I fancy the soundtrack, but the official site prices are way over the top, as much as I like supporting developers directly I'm not happy about spending that much especially when the game will be ~£25 by Christmas.
 
I've pre-ordered it (played every X game to death and back!) at £34.99 for the boxed version (love the X manuals).

I just hope it isn't another Rome II, although Egosoft are definitely a fan orientated company so it's unlikely (fingers crossed)

Waited so long for this game, I can wait a bit longer (until the price drops a little). Hopefully by Christmas when I got more free time anyway.

I would've pre-ordered but got like 160 unplayed games in my Steam collection and am currently really enjoying Company of Heroes.
 
I'm even skipping BF4 for this, as soon as it's in my hands next week i know i won't be playing anything else this year so doesn't seem much point in buying anything :p

Really, the digital copy is more expensive?

(edit) I am so buying this game, just hope I have more luck sticking with it than the other X titles.

I Pre-ordered my about 2 months ago from the Egosoft store because I have been buying all there games since the first X game.

Wonder if I just benchmark my new R9 290 on the very first X demo some how I don't think it would work but it would be funny ;)
