BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

I'm still waiting, was meant to be March but has just been delayed and delayed just moved in a new house and thought ah only going to have to wait until March to get it but Nov and still waiting, emailed a few times and they have said August and now it was meant to be live in December but no cabinet up yet said this was due to blocked ductings or something, emailed a few weeks ago and had no reply... :/
Tempted to move house to get it!
 
Got an email back from openreach and they have encountered more engineering problems in the carlisle area and put mine back until FEB now! I don't understand as there are cabinets all over my town and just passed me house going to the country side there are cabinets all the way up there! Not happy! I am tempted to move but i'll get it in the end just annoyed that it has been delayed so many times and my whole town is now covered in fibre cabinets
 
Anyone live in Nottingham?

Currently looking at properties near the train station and just north of it, Lace Market etc. None of them seem to have fibre enabled cabinets even though the exchange is fibre enabled.

Anyone in Nottingham know which areas tend to be enabled?

Didnt want to make a seperate thread about this (so sorry mods if I should have);

I just got back from a few days away and a flyer had come through my door for FTTB (to the building rather than cabinet) from HyperOptic - who I understand used to be Be Unlimited.

Had choices of 25Mb / 100Mb / 1Gb speeds, and I have initially gone for the middle option at £35/m.

This is a pre-order, as the equipment hasnt yet been put in the basement, but hopefully by monday I will get a clearer idea of when thats happening. Ive put in an additional request for a 2nd faceplate too for the living room.

Just hoping its not too long a wait....
 
IIRC (and I really can't be bothered to double-check at the moment).

Back in the day a team of people created Be*. This was eventually sold off as a going concern.

A similar team of people then created HyperOptic.

This isn't the same as Be* becoming HyperOptic. There are just people in common between the two.
 
It depends how you read my initial post, which could just as easily mean the people behind BE created HyperOptic (which is what happened), just as much as how you appear to be reading it as the business itself changing names.
 
I notice when I check the wholesale checker now that the FTTC has been split into 'Clean' and 'impacted' although both show same maximum line speeds. I assume this is BT covering their arse if you get crappy speeds.

Explanation from the checker says:

For FTTC Ranges A and B, the term "Clean" relates to a line which is free from any wiring issues (e.g. Bridge Taps) and/or Copper line conditions, and the term "Impacted" relates to a line which may have wiring issues (e.g. Bridge Taps) and/or Copper line conditions.
