So I thought I would share the pain in the *** I have been having trying to get any information regarding my cabinet which is just down the road, I live in a new housing estate connected to a cabinet that has been in the town for a long time.
the town has been Fibre enabled at the only exchange and according to BT all cabinets have been fibre enabled, Well this is what was suppose to have happened.
I originally wrote to my local MP regarding this issue not expecting to hear anything back, I then received a letter from them saying they had forwarded my concern over to the "Economic Policy Manager" (what kind of a job title is that?)
Anyway a long story short after 6 months of correspondence this guy is still no closer to finding out what the hell has happened.
It looks to me like BT have spent the funding money for my town elsewhere as they have missed a couple of cabinets that as far as this policy manager is concerned exist on the roll-out plan which has already been completed for the town.
Here is his latest reply:
It has taken 7 months of correspondence with this individual to get anything out of him or BT!
Not very interesting I know but this is how long you have to wait to get any information out of crappy BT, I think its an outrage in this day and age that not only are there parts of a town that can only get 5Mbit speeds, that it also takes BT this long to provide NOTHING to anyone on what is happening.

Dear ****
We have had some developments, but I am afraid not a resolution. I am (still) awaiting for some revised modelling from BT regarding the rollout of our broadband project- this relates to some extra funding we received from the government to extend superfast coverage. I have an issue that according to my data- the cabinet is already covered, but as part of this additional mapping I should get a better understanding of the latest deployment plans, and so may be able to get a better picture of what is happening with cabinet 24. That being said I am also still chasing this under commercial rollout of providers, as our original data showed that the cabinet would be covered. I can only apologies again that I cant seem to get a definitive answer. I continue to try and will keep you abreast when I get the data, please note I have given BT the deadline of the end of the week for the remodelling data.
best wishes and as always please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries, or let me know if you have any success from your enquiries.
Best wishes
James
