BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

I've just checked and my equipment have been delivered, in advance of Inf 2 being installed on Friday morning. :D There's no one at home, so I'm hoping a kind neighbour has it and the postie hasn't just thrown it over the gate.

Yesterday my internet and telephone were a nightmare - ranging from completely out, to really slow and poor quality. I wondered if it was something to do with my impending switch, or just coincidence.

The Home Hub box is supposed to fit through most letter boxes so you should be ok.
 
I've been searching the Windows Store for BT apps (I have a Lumia 920) and imagine my surprise when I found there are some!

Thank you for your enquiry, you are connected to Longton cabinet 73, after checking our systems it says that cabinet 73 is having more ducting overlays put in and also duct blockages removed, if then it all goes to plan barring any more complications this cabinet should be going live February 2014.
 
I've been getting random disconnections on my HH3, all the lights are on on both units! I thought it was my tp-links but I replaced them and it still happens! Annoyingly whilst I'm RDP'ing into my office!!!

Like you I then wake it up by going to a web page, though its not instant! By the time its back up my RDP has disconnected it won't reconnect on its own and I need to log in again!!

I have a feeling BT are doing some work somewhere, and its messing with my connection!

Odd isn't it? I've been getting it on and off for a few months, but this last week it's been dire. I don't get it waking back up when I surf a webpage, it doesn't make sense. I've emailed BT with a copy of the log so hopefully they'll respond with something.
 
Quick question - I'm moving into a new flat at the end of month , currently have sky fibre at my parents - it's totally unlimited, newsgroups run full pelt without any shaping. If I get infinity in my new place, will I have the same level of service? I will get it for BT sport mainly . Are there any good deals for infinity at the moment? Cashback etc??
 
Yeah I'm getting problems in Manchester area, random performance issues on a BT infinity connection, it works fine for a minute and then starts dropping out pages not loading etc

Speedtest at first showed my speed was limited to 2mb, it went back to normal and is now showing the correct speed but its not behaving normally, pages not loading properly etc

Same here. Been having intermittent probs all week. I wonder if they're messing around as I couldn't access ubisoft for example two weeks ago.
 
I got my HH5 yesterday in preparation for installation tomorrow. I checked the parcel when I got home from work late last night and there's no AC dongle in the box. There's a space for it, but it's missing. :(

Does anyone know if it might come in a separate delivery, or will this be my first complaint to BT?
 
it wont be a problem badmojo the engineer will have some hh5's in his van and just swop one for the one you have now, might just have spare power adapters also.

Don't know why I bothered getting the HH5, went from being synced at 76/18 on my HH3 to 38/9 on the HH5, when I call BT they don't have a clue what I'm on about and keep saying you should be getting up to 76mb :confused:

Clueless company.

What is this AC dongle you speak of? Is it a USB wifi adaptor for your pc that is being bundled with the HH5?
