*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Seems KZ MP has been outed as not Full HD, but 960x1080 (so technically native 1080p as we were told). Be interesting to see what Guerilla say about this - still trying to work out why it didnt look so poor as I regularly pop on to play the MP. Noticed the overall blur/softness and the frame drop when it got really shooty but nothing really beyond that!

Pretty sure PvZ is a timed exclusive, reason I say that is that a PS4 version been rated somewhere. Nothing official yet though...

ps3ud0

It appears to be using an experimental interlacing scaling technique which is new. Even the pixel counters can't spot it.

Bf4 is pants played it once, got fifa and madden, just bored, hoping for infamous, but it needs more, defo driveclub asap

I have no idea why 3d is taking so damn long, it was just a small bluray update on ps3

BF4 is not for noobs, it has a long and hard learning curve, it's not pick up and play like COD is.

If you prefer a more nooby game sell it and get ghosts otherwise you really do need to stick with it and try and play with the rest of the guys on here who will teach you a lot.

My K/D ratio is 0.76 or something which isn't great but it's slowly improving. I'm a team player though I don't care about k/d ratio, i'm actively trying to take flags and take on tanks, etc.

You sound like me :) I think it's OK to be a team player and have a decent k/d ratio. There I said it. It's nothing to be ashamed of!

I freely admit that without bf4 I wouldn't have got the ps4. I might dabble with infamous but really I'm waiting for a killer title, but that's what you get as an early adaptor

I'm the same like to be honest. Without BF4 and my mates all getting a PS4/BF4 combo then I wouldn't have bothered yet.
Still, it's been worth it so far for that as I can't be bothered with PC gaming
(still got an unknown fault on my PC where it won't start sometimes after 2 months and nobody has a clue what's happening and I've tried many combinations of components removed/substituted and still hapens so screw that.lol)

Looking ahead, It seems that from around September there could be a massive explosion of quality games but it depends a lot on how many of them come out as good as they are looking in the early preview vids. (we all know things can go downhill fast for a game by release).

To me, it's a nice transitional period to finish off some PS3 stuff and TV series I've been meaning to watch for years

win/loss of 1.377 and a kill/death of 1.220 but my k/d was 1.8 at some point its gone down due to me not sniping a lot any more :p my w/l in that time was at 0.8 lol

moral of the story is if you want to win dont snipe :D

PS4 has been a little slow for me but still enough to get me by. I'm enjoying Strider at the moment after playing BF4 and Resogun, Outlast etc. Dark Souls 2 will keep me plenty busy and then we have Infamous 2nd son, hopefully DriveClub shortly afterwards.

If you still have a PS3 and PS+ there's a stupid amount to play though still.

When I turn my PS4 on and load Fifa up for example, my PS4 will make a very loud vibrating noise that lasts about 20 sseconds.

The noise goes away if I push down the bottom left corner of my PS4.

My PS4 lies flat, I think it's just the vibrating of the ps4 on my desk.

Anyone else have this? I've seen it reported before.

I think I'll buy a stand for it.

its the disc spinnning up for a disc check. mine does the same. although, mine is on its side without a stand and doesn't make too much noise tbh. my ps3 made more noise with the disc spinning inside it.

Is that a side scroller? Think I saw that on the store

Edit: yes that is the one, been reading some stuff on Reddit http://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/comments/1yglp0/first_impressions_of_strider/

Think I may pick it up for that retro feel.. seeing as Resogun is probably my most-played PS4 game!

It's actually pretty good yep and waaaay bigger than I expected. It has some of the original sounds etc. so has a nice retro feel. I'd recommend you play on hard if you get it as the bosses are a cake walk otherwise.

Still awaiting Guerrillas response as what theyve done isnt just a cheap/simple upscale. Love to see the reasoning behind that rather than doing 1080p/30fps...

I thought it had been well established that it was so they could get a higher frame rate for the online play?

Going to download the demo later and have a go! Thanks for bringing it to my attention :)

I don't think it's the normal disc spinning up sound though. It's almost like a rumbling noise.

From the Googling I did last time lots of people were having it and its apparently something to do with the rubber feet on the bottom of the ps4 vibrating when the drive is at full speed.

one of the sides of the ps4 doesn't align up properly when placed flat it wobbles.

for example i can press the top of the console and it moves down then back up again when i press the very left of the console from the front.

a quick fix would be to place a coaster or some paper/cardboard under the left side of the console so it cannot wobble.

mine makes no noise but that's because it's laid perfectly flat, your shelf or your floor could have a slight angle on it exaggerating this issue.
