OP, get a grip. You've had a problem customer, it happens. You have, at worst, a case of theft - which is against the business not you, so taking it personally is pointless and will accomplish nothing. Shouting at you for inviting his 15 year old daughter round to your house - well I think that's a lesson for you to be honest. What he called you is immaterial, nobody's going to pursue a case of slander against the customer. What on earth are you doing inviting customers round your house anyway? You've complained about the shoddy dealings at your business before, sounds like you're just as bad!

Now why don't you get on with applying for that other job?

Its not against the shop its a personal repair because the shop couldn't come through with the parts in time for her "holiday" (which she lied about). So its a theft from myself personally.

I Invited Whoever wanted to collect the device to collect it from the location that i was at, just so happens to be my house. Some times i have people collect from my mother in-laws.

I invited them to collect from me as it was a personal repair, hence dealing with them personally. wherever i may be with the ipad is immaterial in my eyes.

I'm not "just as bad" at all. The shop couldn't come through with the service promised, so after they took the ipad back i suggested that i could take her on as a personal customer and have it fixed before her holiday. Simple. I was trying to do her a favor, this is how i have the reputation for good customer service in this field where i live... for going the extra mile.

How was i to know her dad who doesn't live with her would decide in his wisdom to throw a fit and call me a pedo for asking for the ipad to be collected from my house, whilst i was recovering from an operation (hence why not at shop for collection) before she went on the so called holiday tomorrow....

I cant see how i can be at fault at all in this situation.

I will still have personal customers drop off and collect from my personal address, just like i have done the past thousand repairs.
I do wonder what this bloke would have done if i hadn't actually gone to the shop today... come to my house? It seems to me that he had researched every detail and had a plan to simply try and get me in trouble, and get a free repair.

You will allways look slightly bad in this no matter if you do think she looks 17 ect
As for the repair do you have an address ect to send the police to? If not chalk it up as a lose & move on

Am i missing something?

OP said the girl could collect the item from his house, but the dad took it from the shop and never paid???

Was the item at your house or the shop, something doesn't add up here.

Hey.

had a customer shout at me and call me a pedo in the shop today, all because I told his daughter that she could collect her repaired device from myself at home. (Like I have done for past 8 years to most customers).

Now then... who do I report the slander too? Also he didn't pay the £100 owed for the repair and took it.

So slander and theft. Shop was full of people!

I am thinking police would shrug it off as a civil matter?
I will take this as far as possible... can I take him to court for this?

Please help GD

I don't know if it's just me that's noticed this, but you seem to have an inordinate amount lot of bother at your place of 'work'.
