Man Utd are only the 6th team to ever overcome a 2-0 deficit from the first leg in the Champions League? Is that right? I'd venture that in a decades time few people will remember the manner of the victory as much as the fact they did something that wasn't expected and is notably rare.

I'm not convinced that Mr Moyes is going to be someone who will replace Sir Alex and go on to have as much success as he did but then again I don't think that should be unexpected. Ferguson had the better part of three decades to shape the club and he started in a time when it was, in many ways, less pressured for managers because the financial difference between success and failure wasn't so great and clubs weren't routinely answerable to the stock market.

From what little I've seen so far Mr Moyes hasn't exactly covered himself in glory but he is dealing with a club where a number of players are coming towards the end of their careers. You can argue that there's still at least three world class stars in the team and a few promising talents but there's also a lot to be addressed in terms of playing staff as well who are either not good enough in the first place or declining talents. I don't think the experiment has gone as well as many would want but equally I think it's worth giving him a bit more time to see what happens when he has the chance to influence the team further.

One good thing about this appointment is that it's showing some people how lucky they were to have Ferguson for so many years, maybe he could (or even should) have won more but his record wasn't too shabby for someone who apparently didn't know what he was doing.
 
Ive voted to give him more time, because in my opinon sacking him today, would be a bad idea.

I absolutely want him gone in the Summer, when a new manager can be brought in, calmly.

When you sack a manager mid-season this always creates chaos. When its done in the Summer, the whole process can be more considered and not rushed.

Also, if he got the sack today, who would take over? It would almost certainly be a caretaker manager.

The big issue I have with him is that for him to beat Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea, he will need to have better players than what those teams have. Basically, I see him as a liability. As a handicap. And I cant ever see how we will ever beat Chelsea while Mourinho is there.

Moyes is just poor in general. He can manage a team in the mid-table. No doubt about that. But Man Utd shouldnt be mid-table.

Oh and I'm not sure if anyone has posted this.

Fergies man management must've top class.
He clearly knew how to motivate players.
Using the same players + £65M, Moyes will finish 6 places below what Fergie managed to do last year.

Couldn't ask for a better little run going into the derby on Tuesday... if we beat City, our confidence will be high to take on Munich.
 
It's a bit harsh to call for Moyes' head based purely on the result tonight, but we are absolutely dire in possession and going forward, it's actually shocking.

The man has no philosophy, and certainly can't coach players to defend either - not something I expected at all.

No doubt he'll say he was delighted because we passed the ball for a bit (in slow motion, no less).
