Chances of UKIP winning General Election?

Spot on.
I noticed a new development going up near where I live a few weeks back. I called the builders and asked what the pricing was for a 3-bed semi, only to be told that they were all sold before even a single spade had been put in the ground. Mainly to investors and buy-to-let folk.
Even with help to buy it's nigh on impossible to get a mortgage for a sufficient amount.

This what happens when you let any silly sod in to the UK. And the more that come here the less homes for you ;)

All these lot want to come here which I don't understand. What could they possibly want ;)

As it's a direct result of carny and osbourne's policies I guess about 6 months after the GE before the bubble bursts, if all goes according to plan.

I'm about 18 months away from being on the market for a house, £300K budget with 10% deposit. Really hopeful that it all goes boobs up before then so i can pick up a bargain. At the moment I'd be lucky if that buys you a small house in London in a nice area. Everywhere that is affordable is a hell hole and i had my fill of that kind of place when living in Stratford, not again.

Probably a job at a guess, or a better life.

Either way illegal immigrants are not the source of the demand that makes 3 bed houses almost half a mil!

The West have had their industrial revolution now its the turn of the East. If the world is to do anything seriously about climate change newer modern energy technology needs to be made available to new developing powers such as China and India. Much more need to be done in terms of subsidies and joint ventures.

china has better renewable tech than us lol

I will be voting for Nigel as I did in the euro and i hope he can win the general Election. What ever you think of the party and it's policies at least they care, something the main party's lack.

Or the alternative is to keep voting for the same main party's forever until the UK turns into a multicultural cesspit with no identity.

So why don't get a job anywhere in the EU? or any other country?
And anyone that comes in to the UK will take what homes are left away from the btits.

In what way? Seriously, where does this rubbish come from? They are credible because?...

Labour tried to control the country with totalitarian anti-terrorism legislation and knee-jerk laws from every daily mail reader waving a petition. So that makes the UKIP more credible than them. Oh yeah, they also ruined the economy as well.

Just prepare for all types of attacks on ukip and i would be surprised if by general election they have any credibility left.

Just to answer one comment, British generally have free movement anywhere in the world. Compared to a lot of countries prior to the EU the uk would stand out as a country you would want to be born in if you wanted to travel. As most of europe would accept you in to the country if you just showed up there. This false idea about how the EU has brought us free movement in europe. I am not too sure how true that is, the main difference is that we have a different line at the airport. Other than that the british are no better off in that regard. Just wait till you have an eu passport and struggle to get in to the countries that we previously would have just walked in to, then you can come and wave the flag of the ecu.

I like the fact that this thread about UKIP has turned to an multiple entirely more interesting debates. Faith in OCUK forums: restored

The other problem with help to buy schemes is they push the price of houses up further & further.

This government (along with the last) has done nothing of use to actually resolve this social problem - mostly for the reason that it would be to the detriment of large scale home-owners with huge buy to let portfolios (also many older voters who would stand to lose some value in their house).

A house should not be a commodity to be traded, it's a finite resource which is needed.

Just like food...

HAHAHAH is the thread title for real? They have a chance to win about 4 seats (ukip prediction) if the vote for the Euro elections popularity holds.

If they maintain popularity i think that's reasonable. I think they'll nick one or two, but they are going to have to survive people getting bored of them. Remember, Lib Dem last GE got popular in a few weeks but lost a lot of it just before the vote. UKIP popularity has to last a lot longer and a pretty massive smear campaign where there is quite a bit of dirt to dig up.

We can just grow more or import food.

We can't really do the same for houses, neither do you have to grow food within a reasonable distance of popular work locations. So sadly not really that much like food.

Not according to the Green Party who think any piece of food that has traveled more than 10 miles is intrinsically evil.

But, I think D.P's analogy is closer than you think. Food is not an infinite resource whilst there are no limits to human populations. Every single person requires a certain amount of land to provide them with crops and/or meat and land is finite thing.

Which is why the Greens' policies are contradictory, on the one hand they want to limit food miles but on the other they support an 'open border' policy which would lead us to having to import food (because as explained eventually there will be more people than there is land to feed them all solely from UK products).
