Poll: 13 year old cousin had her belly button pierced?

At that age they are still at school and doing P.E & physical activities etc... So could easily rip it out and cause quite some trauma to all. At "mid-teenage" years they are more... feminine and behave more...ladylike.

I have three daughters.. 26.. 21..and 17

The 17 year recently had it done and big sis (21 year old) went along for morale support and came away with it done as well.

13 is too young as they are still growing and the danger aspect.
 
my daughter is five, and i'd never allow her to have her belly button pierced at 13. if she wanted to get it done at 16 then fair enough, but i think thirteen is a bit too young!
 
16 imo, but then again I would probably show them what can go wrong with the piercings first, like infections, getting caught on clothes etc. If they still wanted it done at that point, then that's their choice. At least they would know it's not all glamour, and things can go wrong.

Belly piercings look horrible anyway, I don't know why girls get them done.
 
Typical of the "I'm entitled to" generation. If she wants her daughter to look like a tramp, she's well on her way....at 13 too.
 
Belly button rings go hand in hand with crop tops & my 13 year old daughter would not be out wearing a ******* crop top.
 
It is surprising how reserved everyone is over this. I don't see it as an overly sexual thing so am quite surprised to be honest.

I wonder what the thoughts are on makeup and if that's acceptable or not for a 13 year old.

I voted yes because I am not a prude and I am happy to walk around with (some) of my ankles showing!

This is my exact view on the situation and is the position I will be taking with my daughter.
 
Why are people so shocked? It seems many people in here are unaware of just how sexual a 13 year old can be. I actually had my first sexual experience as a 12 year old with a 13 year old girl at her birthday party!

I think its not shock, just wanting to avoid this from happening to their little girls.
