If you have been following the recent news related to video game industry, you most probably know what is going on at the offices of a remarkably famous German video game development company called Crytek, which is responsible for some of the most critically video games such as Ryse: Son of Rome and Crysis series. The regional subsidiaries of Crytek have reportedly halted their work due to the financial issues going on at the parent game company, and rumors claim that the company might end up in the hands of a strong buyer.

Sony Rumored to Be Interested Expanding its Studios by Purchasing Crytek
We all know that Crytek, video game development company which owns multiple studios spread out across the world, is facing some great financial issues. The company is under allegations of failing to pay its staff on time, and over 100 workers have reportedly left the company due to these issues. Most recent reports claim that the majority of staffers at Nottingham-based Crytek UK studio, which is developing Homefront: The Revolution, have left their seats because of the ongoing financial issues.
Under these circumstances, it is rumored that there is a strong buyer who is willing to purchase Crytek. Recently, a well-known industry insider caller Tidux released a huge rumor in a series of tweets, claiming that according to two of his sources, Sony is looking to expand their existing video game development studios by purchasing Crytek.

So if this has any substance, would that mean Crytek will be a PS4 exclusive?
Crytek aren't a developer worth making an exclusive partner in the same vein of Bungie.
Crytek have plenty going for it and they have a name that a lot of gamers will know. If the price is right it could be a good buy.
Yeah, that's why they're financially struggling.....
Your big alliances (Bungie/MS for example) don't product 6-7 rated games, Crytek do and have done since they destroyed the ethos they had with the original Crysis.
They have a name for ruining their own franchise and dumbing down their games.
Crysis 3 (Along with BF3/BF4) looks like it's smothered in vaseline, but that's a personal opinion.
AC4 (again opinion) has probably the best graphics for me.
And again, why go for someone like Crytek when you have Naughty Dog smashing it? Both graphically and with gameplay?
People's opinion of Crysis drops because of the aliens, which personally I think's a slanted view. I've completed Crysis on Delta and I found it rather easy, people don't like dealing with the aliens because they're different to deal with than the humans....................................... They'd rather have a humanoid target, now that's boring.
Great exclusives are what sells consoles. Crytek's first exclusive in this gen was for MS in Ryse, and look how that turned out? Far from great.
If Sony buy then Crytek as you know it has changed. Sony are not buying to let a failing company fail some more. They are buying because they can see potential and think they can do something good for themselves with the company.
You understand how many areas Sony themselves are failing at right?
I read an article a long time ago about how Sony's investments were propping up the rest of the conglomerate. AFAIK both MS/Sony's gaming divisions are still bigtime loss-leaders (a quick google confirms they lost $150m last year), I don't think it's possible to turn a profit without going the Nintendo road.
