The 'Official' Screenshot & Tips thread 4 FSX enthusiasts & flight simmers.

Hopefully buying REX ( ESSENTIAL PLUS WITH OVERDRIVE) and Active Sky Next - is SimMarket the place to get it from ??

Hoping that my system won't be affected to much from the above addons :)

I would suggest going for Rex 4 Texture Direct and Active Sky Next. Rex 4 is the new version. I used Simmarket and it was fine - performance is fine really you can fine tune it as always though.

Weather Engine is what Active Sky Next Does ?

The guys over at Active Sky Next have given me a heads up - pcaviator are running a 10% off Sale on Tuesday :)

Yep, REX 4 is just textures (Sky, clouds, Sun, Water)

Active Sky Next downloads live weather reports and "builds" the weather in the sim; using the upgraded cloud and sky textures that you installed from REX

Thanks :)

FSX has just CTD when i was on Final :(

Event Viewer is Below - Any Idea's? (Default Install)

It's been a while but I went for a little flight from Dublin to Southampton in a Bristol Britannia.

I definitely have a bit of a thing for old quad prop airliners :/

That brings back memories. The BB was the first plane I ever flew on in 1965....I was 7!
We went from Luton to Barcelona with BOAC and the flight engineer walked round the side of the plane with the biggest spanner I've ever seen!

This is has been a regular weekly thing for quite sometime now. And you still get this extra 10% off anything already on sale. Nice feature :)

Google fsx uiautomationcore.dll

Download the dll file and put it in the fsx directory, should stop most random ctd's
The other useful trick here is to run the latest FSUIPC as that stops some display problems within g3d.dll

PC Aviator's !0% off Tuesdays is across the store, I've only ever bought downloads as shipping is expensive from abroad so not sure if the sale is downloads only or not. Their headline in the emails I get is

Save 10% off everything at PC Aviator and MegaSceneryEarth every Tuesday!

Thanks

Currently have in my list:

Active Sky NEXT
REX 4 - Texture Direct HD
GSX Ground Services For FSX
FS2Crew: PMDG 737 NGX Special Bundle Pack
PMDG 737 NGX (FSX)

Ive been told the sale does live around Midnight American Time - Which is around 6AM GMT on Tuesday?

Also will FSX be affected much if its installed on a Normal Hard Drive - Won't have the space for FSX/Addons on my SSD :(

Just had a little flight in Norway after using Active Sky Next to find a nice thunderstorm, probably didn't pick the best aircraft though!

Very nice.

The Dash is such a rewarding aircraft when you get the hang of it.

Departing Edinburgh in very Scottish weather (Prepar3D v2.2)

I bought the airline2sim training videos, very interesting, they cover almost everything in the cockpit that you need at "cadet" level and actually complete 3 legs of a 4 leg operational day going from Isle of man to East Midlands down to Guernsey and then back up to Gatwick when they had to stay as they had a cargo door light come on as they where on final. The first officer training is due out soon and they will be going into much more detail.

You wouldn't happen to be the Brian who frequents Marshall and Paul lee's twitch streams?
