I found a broken cat this evening :/

Good on you, OP. :)

Being able to actually try and use his back legs is a good sign, as you mention. Hopefully the moggy'll pull through. Do let us know what happens! :)

Poor thing. Keep us updated. So the rspca are just leaving him like that until someone pays the bill? That's horrid.

If a dog needs rescuing and it becomes known that the RSPCA are on their way, our local Dogs Trust people will try and get to the dogs first.
They have a better chance of staying alive in their hands, the RSPCA will often kill them.

I imagine the RSPCA doesn't have much of the donations left after their adverts to pay for vet bills :(

My local vet has a donation account to pay vet bills for strays brought in. Much better idea. They waive the consultation charge for those who donate.

The RSPCA is too busy spending most of it's money on Fox hunting prosecutions, 80% of which they fail to win, or bringing silly cases to court, costing both them and the taxpayer money. If the cat was unfortunate to be taken by the RSPCA it'd have a 50% chance of being put down regardless of injury, hell in 2011 alone they put 53,000 animals to sleep.

My money goes directly to local dog homes now instead of these big animal charities which have become a sham IMHO which is a real shame as the individual inspectors still do a fantastic job.

op has restored some of my faith in humanity, well done sir.

hope you hear from the owners, even if they cant be bothered with the cat hopefully they'll have the decency to let you know you can take him on.

That's quite tragic, hopefully the little things gets the attention it needs.

If owners don't turn up, and you're not in a position to foot the bill entirely perhaps set up something on here for donations. Would be happy to help out a little and am sure others would be too.

Could be our OCUK rescue cat!

I think that is a great idea.

Definitely a great idea. If its needed, consider me chipping in too.

I will donate as well. I am laid in bed looking at my cat laid on his blanket living a charmed life.
