Japanese Grand Prix 2014, Suzuka - Race 15/19

Sorry not an expert with these things just going off what media sites have been calling it.

having seen the video of the crash an enclosed cockpit wouldn't have made much if any difference with how hard the impact was and the fact he went under the rear of the JCB
with enough force to lift it in the air.
hope he recovers

Yes I have.

People are talking about slowing cars down for yellow flags, making sure they time races for sunny days etc.

This is a "freak" event that as i already mentioned I dont recall ever happening before.

Martin Brundle nearly had Jules Bianchi's accident in 1994 on the very same Sukuza corner, lucky for him, he just misssed the vehicle. A marshal was not so lucky, getting hit by Martin's car, receiving a bad injury.

In 2003, there was a crazy race at Brazil where the heavens opened. Multiple cars came to the same stretch of track and went wide, including Schumacher if I recall correctly.

There's a longer 2 minute video of the whole thing on the 'F1 Bible' page on fb...

It's a fan's video, which has probably already been established now.

The recovery vehicle actually reversed a fair few yards before the impact, such a shame that it hit him but as said, the barrier impact would have been horrific, and if he the vehicle had reversed slightly earlier we wouldn't even be praying for Jules right now.

The time it takes them to remove cars is somewhat excessive. You get the impression that none of them have been trained in how to use a 'Strap' , It's quite simple really.

That was my response just seen it.

How he is alive is incredible....I hope he pulls through but seeing that I really do doubt it.
