45mm, which is the same size of the Longines (fat wrists) but least it's smaller than the 47mm Zeno pilots, so if I get rid of one of those, then I might be OK

I am researching buying an old Omega Seamaster (60's/70's) It looks like they often go for under £200, but often have a fair amount of "patina" at this age. How good would a watch like this look after a full service, and what should I pay to have it done?

It depends if you like patina or not. Personally, I'd buy an old watch like that for the patina. If you were going to overhaul the movement, refinish the case then it will look pretty sharp. For an older watch such as the ones you're looking at, you need to find a trusted watchmaker to do the work. Cost is entirely dependant on what needs doing.

I am not overly fussed about case patina, some scratching and marking on a watch of this age is to be expected, but when the face and hands are missing lume, or pitted/marked it would bother me.
I can re-lume hands/faces myself, but repair/restoration of the face design would be really important to me

So I suppose the question I need answering is, how much does it cost to do the work on watch face only, seeing as I can do all the dis-assembly myself?

I really am torn about which version to get

I noticed the last one (probably the best looking out of the three) has a slightly different watch mechanism and the additional ceramic element of the strap but I'm wondering is that worth the extra £600 on top of the other two's price :confused:

or do i save a few quid and go for a less cluttered dial like one of these as both my Christopher Ward watches have the blue dials.

The Ceramic will add to the price as will the slightly more advanced movement which has 56 hours power reserve vs the 48 odd of the other two.

Whether that along with the extra styling equates to £600 worth of extras though is for only you to decide.
