*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Mine was always in standby since launch but since this latest update it has failed to wake up twice now. I have started to just turn it off fully.
 
Sony broke the rumble for controllers in a past update for ps4, they did fix it so odds are this new rest mode will be fixed soon enough..

I do use remote play , so suspend mode was fairly useful.
 
Pretty happy with 2.0 so far.

Custom themes are nice (once downloaded from the PSN store) and more are clearly on the way.

Nice party chat improvements: clearer mic audio, ability to adjust mic volume to set a good level, faster invite accepts via PS button.

YouTube app seems good (clean UI, 1080p, phone app support)

USB music support... not tried it yet but heard there are issues. Friend tried everything and couldn't get anything to play. A lot of confusion out there right now it seems. Do you create a folder called "MUSIC", "Music", or "music"???

Shareplay is very impressive. Had a go at taking over a mate's Destiny session and took his level 28 Warlock for a trip off the Tower ledge lol. We then tried Fifa 15 co-op and it worked very well. It's a shame you can't do 3 or even 4 player Shareplay in games that support it like Fifa but that might be stretching things for now.


The ultimate glaring omission though... still no bloody notification for when friends come online!! Seriously, this is a ridiculous omission. There is no reason for it at all.

Does the console stay in standby when playing using Remote Play or does the app cause it to wake up to run the game?

But that doesnt take all night, so the suggested "powering off of the console or USB after a set time" would seem sensible.

Nope, after I just typed all that in, it's still broken in rest mode, no new hdd, stock system, borked rest mode, like many others are reporting across the net.. so no more suspend for me it seems , clearly a bug in the firmware

Yeah, its definitely not happy about something.
 
If I recall correctly people suffered the same sort of issues with the original suspend mode, it'll be fixed soon enough.
