Far Cry 4 due this November

Anybody know a way to check which version you're running?

Can't find any info due to the 'transparent update' feature.

For all I know I'm running the unpatched version

From Steam Forums, a 'darkness' fix for SLI users:

Use Nvidia Inspector. Next to driver version, click on the settings button. Find Far Cry 4 on the drop down menu at the top. Change 'SLI Compatibility Bits (DX1x) from 0x080040F5 (Daylight, Monster Hunter Online Benchmark, Ryse: Son of Rome, Lichdom: Battlemage, Far Cry 4) to 0x081902F5 (Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon DLC, Far Cry 3). Click in the top right to apply settings. Play Far Cry 4 with your SLI working and no stupid black shadows.

This works for me!

Thanks very much

Been playing since last night on my 980 @ 1080p with all settings ultra and havn't been getting the shuttering issue many have fps has been solid

Really bud? That is indeed depressing to hear. :( what prog you use for frame limiting?

Seriously, the number of Pc games released these days that have stuttering issues is getting beyond a joke.

The problem is, some people think a game is running smooth and ok, and it's really not. Many aren't sensitive to slight stutter / micro judders, or just aren't bothered. Personally it's my biggest bugbear and obsession to get games as smooth running as possible. Partly why I forked out for the Swift, but even gsync can't fix some stutters caused by poor engines (unreal 3!!!!!) and sloppy console ports, etc etc

Using the programming that comes with afterburner, which for the life of me I can't remember the name of ATM.

Game runs very poorly on any settings with the rig in my sig so it's obviously a driver/optimisation issue

It's a texture streaming issue which is caused by the game maxing out a single core on your CPU which in turn leads to extremely poor GPU usage i.e Hell'ish stutter.

I'm paraphrasing a bit but that's the general problem.

Haven't been looking at CPU usage but my GPU's were up at ~80% iirc

It's a shame really because the fat old rich men at the top of these companies i.e Ubi/EA etc...keep pushing the studios to bring games out faster and faster, Soon we'll be left with only a few studios like CD Projekt Red who will only release the game when it's ready as it should be.

I don't see how they could actually develop this many bugs when it's built on the Farcry3 Engine...
