I'd hardly call 10 years ago as needing a very short memory
I was there on day 1 with my Rogue on Spainbreaker and it was nothing at all like this.
So you dont recall the MONTHS of server issues ? Seriously are you telling us you dont remeber that ?

You need to raise a customer support ticket and they'll move your character out of your garrison. I don't know how long they're taking to get round to these requests though.
I had no problems apart from a large queue on release.
2004: Azeroth Opens For Business
World of Warcraft
It all started on November 23rd, 2004. Amidst server outages and a very laggy experience, Azeroth opened its doors to a flood with World of Warcraft’s release. I love the blank stares I get from many WoW players who try new MMO’s now. I tell them not to be so critical about new games like The Secret World or TERA. I reflect on my experiences back when I signed up and started playing World of Warcraft on February 2nd, 2005. I tell them how many current features were not there and how every day we got to play was almost like a miracle. I’m looking at my account history right now and there are so many free days added to my play time due to server outages that would last 12 hours up to a couple days. Today people freak out about weekly maintenance. Back in 2004 and 2005, we freaked out about not being able to play for days and this was common!
WoW had a very troublesome launch year. Although, the content never stopped rolling out. Sure, we had a lot of issues back then with server stability and class balance (way more so than now)
People need to stop with the "this is the worst launch ever". Even BC was more problematic than WoD a week in.
I remember getting stuck mining nodes around Ironforge. Destruction Warlock is not great to play any more, in PVP you are a stationery turret with nothing to combat melee with. In PVE you are ok as long as you don't have to move. Not sure about other specs.

This may refresh your memory..

I'm not saying there weren't problems with the servers. I can also remember periods where it went pear shaped seemingly night after night. The difference being, these problems weren't centred around day one. They were happening on and off during vanilla, independent of launch.
The author of the above piece mentions problems over 2004 and 2005 (I.e. by checking his free days, some a year after release) as well as relying on his memory, which apparently I'm not allowed to do.
If you had no issues at release you are the only person to say this, Even the devs said that the launch was horrible due to the all issues.

Gah, guessing i will be changing class then![]()
Destro is still the highest DPS spec for PVE according to usual sites like Noxxic but we have no instant cast spells any more (bar conflag which has 2 charges) so when you have to move you are relying on quick casts and immolate.

Blizzard and WOD will be on Watchdog next week due to people not being able to play after paying for a sub.
