132 light = lvl 31

need 144 for lvl 32 (= 4 pieces raid armor or new exotic)


that's actually quite annoying, if your exotic armor upgrade doesn't arrive at Xur this weekend, it will be quite tricky to hit lvl 31 this week (bcos you won't be able to fully upgrade raid armor piece this week). i guess you could buy and level another vanguard legendary in place of the 30 light exotic, but probably wont have enough marks for it this week if u already bought 2 pieces.

Nope - as far as we could tell adds spawn constantly. The only time you get some rest bite is being revived far back when someone is still alive right out front. The Thralls attack the guy at the front and "wait" until you get in range.

EDIT: Greboth - Nice on the checkpoint, I didn't know that. :) I wasn't sure it anyone else made it but good to know I wasn't alone. I think at that point one person just needs to run for it whilst everyone else goes down holding the enemies off. If everyone runs then the chances of making it are much lower.

Yup, you saw it on DestinyLFG people joining fireteams to get a checkpoint i.e. Atheon on hard, then breaking up to all run from that checkpoint with their friends.

I think you are right about the end, as only one needs to get across one runs while anyone remainign continues to hold off the adds to give the runner a hopefully clean run.

With 2 armor upgrades per class and ~8 exotics per class, only 25% chance of getting the exotic armor upgrade you want.

However, Xur will also be selling 1 lvl32 exotic per class.

As such to get lvl 31 can do it with new exotic and 2 vendor pieces.

To hit 31 this week need:-
  • 7-13 strange coins (depending on if upgrade exotic or new exotic)
  • 150-195 VG marks (depending on if you need to buy the head legendary)
  • 0-1 commendations (depending on if you need to buy head/chest legendary)

This should be a fairly achievable task and makes hitting 31 quick. This is what i'll be doing as everything i've read about the raid indicates 31 is far far more beneficial.

...The real task will be hitting 32. Need 3 raid pieces and 54 radiant shards which are now only attainable from the raid. Will be Jan before anyone starts hitting this (with the exception of people running raid 3 times on 3 characters)

Don't forget you will also need ascendant shards to level up the new armour. 18 per armour piece.

Just seen on the Destiny forums that one lot have cleared the raid already. It required a level 31 to assist as 6 level 30's were unable to do enough damage quickly enough to Crota.

Looking forward to giving it another go Friday. I will hopefully be closer to level 31 by that point so fingers crossed. :)

Yeah, sure.

When I got kicked last night it was just before the gorgons maze. I got the spirit bloom chest but didn't get the next one (at the bottom after the falls). Does this mean when I load up I'll have a save just before that chest?

Couldn't get back on last night.

Also, I'm up for crota at any time (night) really , so don't forget to giz a shout + I'll keep an eye out on here.

If you are the fireteam leader it will load at the last checkpoint. I know there is why before you pick up the relic to fight the templart and there is one at the start of the gorgon cave. I do not know though whether there is one between those points for you to start at. You can load VoG on your own, you don't need a complete fireteam so could quickly load it up and see where you are :)

Friday 7pm GMT VoG normal quick run

I'd like to take my 28 into crota's end to get the first chest if we can borrow someone's 30 to open the raid, only takes 5 minutes and it does drop exotics. Grab it before they patch it :)

Going to concentrate on getting to 31 I think....but it we do have a full team of 30s that want to clear the first section, we could give it a go.

I have got CE run to finish at 8:30 but should be able to get through VoG on normal in 1h 30 so I will join. Level 29 (hopefully 30) warlock.

I would say your best bet is to play the strike playlist or crucible to rank up the vendors to buy armour. Im guessing you haven't bought the DLC so highest it can get you is level 28 but once you pass 25/26 then you can join in any VoG raids going on.

Someone will probably come along and say much better way to do it but that is how I would do it.

How did you find it after the Gatekeepers? You were running 6 level 30's weren't you?

EDIT: I would be up for the normal VoG raid on Friday evening at 7. I am in the same group doing CE as Greboth so we are both running a 1hr 30 timer... :)

I need so many shards...

The only thing slowing down normal runs now is Atheon bugs, we'll easily do it in 90 mins.

I will bring either of my Warlocks (both are basically the same minus Pigtails on one). Alternatively I could give my hunter a crack at it (level 29).

Just checking we are all good to have another crack at this tomorrow (Thurs) say 8pm?

Also if anyone wants to do a quick normal VOG tonight from about 19:45 i'd be interested I could do with some shards. I've got Gatwick pick up duties for the GF so would need to be done by about 21:00. Should be pretty quick if we are over levelled.
