DX12 CPU Performance Leaked, Way Faster Than DX11 – Threading Model Resembles AMD’s Mantle

The only games that have mantle so far are the ones that AMD have given millions of dollars to. Of the few games that have released usage stats, AMD mantle-capable GPU's make up less than 20% of the user base (even where AMD are giving away free copies of the game), it simply doesnt make any financial sense to support mantle when it isnt being bankrolled by AMD

Maybe you right. We will see in a few years.

Devs know their games will sell on DX regardless, there is little incentive other than the money AMD give them to code for Mantle as well. As Andy said above less than 20% of AMD user base has a mantle capable GPU, then if you take into account how many of those are using it alongside a new Intel CPU the amount who really benefit from it is even lower or even the amount of those users who play games with Mantle.

Here, repeat what shank has said.

just done that. only seems to be mentioned in comment areas. theres the money AMD paid to be main dev and have exclusivity deals with DICE on BF4 but thats it. Mantle at the moment is working on a sign up BETA type scenario for Devs so if anything anyone signing up is putting their money behind AMD not the other way around.

then if you take into account how many of those are using it alongside a new Intel CPU the amount who really benefit from it is even lower
you still get gains on top end intel CPU's its just smaller than the headline figure. just as you will get gains using Dx12 with high end intels.

thats fine, its not even out of BETA yet. as time progresses more people will get mantle capable GPU's. you think all GPU's out now are going to be Dx12 capable?

Not all GPUs have support for DirectX 12, but a lot more do than Mantle. Mantle right not is only GCN while DirectX 12 is GCN, Fermi, Kepler, Maxwell and whatever the name of the newest Intel graphics architecture is.

Once DirectX 12 is out it will work on a larger part of the market.

right. but I was kinda making the point that the share is only going to grow on development and release. To say its only 20% at the mo is irrelevant. its a new tech.
A Comparison would be Gsync. how many monitors in the market is it supported by? does the low percentage at the moment mean its worthless?

Difference is AMD only have 30% of the market. 20% of AMD users have GCN. So unless my maths fail me only 6% of all users can benefit from Mantle.

Not a clue about Gsync :p
I'm sure someone has a good idea on how many nvidia cards can utilise Gsync

Gsync isn't in anyway comparable, so it's a rather pointless suggestion.
