What watch do you wear?

It's the Tissot Visodate

Can be had for £321 from Creationwatches or slightly more from a UK dealer.

Do you have any other straps to go along with this watch, might pick up one soon and was wondering if there is a nice ss or nato strap that matches it well. Still new to the watch world but really getting into it now.

Something a bit different. Picked up a 1950s Zenith Sporto and added my own strap. Nice manual wind movement, keeps good time and I think it looks quite nice.

Sorry for the iPotato pic, photograph is definitely not my strong point.

I bought an Omega Speedmaster moonwatch the other day. Although I'm not hugely in to watches and this infact my first watch, my partner wanted me to have something to keep for my 30th birthday. I looked at various brands but decided on the moonwatch as my wrists are skinny and it wasn't over the top and also because it is a classic unlikely to date. I'd like to pass it on to my son when he is 21, I can still see it being a cool watch in 19 years time :)

Unfortunately Omega now only sell these in the huge presentation box, I was about 6 months too late just to get the watch on it's own. However, I did get 20% off the list price so it bought it down to less than the previous cost without the presentation box (they have gone up by around £500 since this change was made).

I thought you guys might be interested in some pictures:

I struggled to get a picture of the watch with my camera so had to resort to my phone:

Can anyone suggest a brown leather strap with white stitching, similar to the following link? http://www.omegawatches.com/collection/speedmaster/moonwatch/numbered-edition-397-mm/31132403001001

You were not kidding about the size of the box!

That's a very nice watch, nicer to see than the ever popular SMP too :p

Speedmaster looks good, enjoy wearing it :)

With regards to the strap, surely a black leather one with white stitching would look better than brown?

long time lurker in this thread, not sure if the correct place to ask but am looking at getting a Omega Seamaster planet ocean myself this one infact

http://www.goldsmiths.co.uk/Omega-S...pid=17330858&gclid=COjjg6CH9sICFUoUwwodCAMAdg

£3,800

ive found the same if not similar watch on watchfinder for £2,550 second hand

http://www.watchfinder.co.uk/Omega/Planet Ocean/2208-50-00/0/item/42504

can I have peoples genuine opinion if its worth the money? do you think the orange will still hold its value for time to come?

and would you buy new or save and buy second hand? if buying new I would use the o% finance option and spread it out over a year and a bit

apology's if im supposed to start a new thread for this!

I have no problem buying second hand as long as the watch has the relevant papers and in a condition reflecting the price.

My latest Oris came from watch finder (in store) and the service was great.

Great watch - I like the box and it'll work for when you give it to your son.
I also bought my Seamaster this time last year with the exact same intention.

I would buy 2nd hand if the used price was right and the difference between the old and new model was small. Which is the case in the links you posted.

It's worth noting that you can buy a new one for about £800 off list price from Swiss Watches Direct : http://www.swisswatchesdirect.co.uk...ega_mens_watches_seamaster_planet_ocean_(42mm)

Do you like the orange?

Personally, if it was going to be my only watch, or main 'nice' watch, I wouldn't get anything as specific as that orange. It may look nice with a few things, or great on its own, but I'd want something that would work with everything. Various colours come in and out of style, but some are always safe choices.

If you feel its going to be the first of many however, and you really like it, go for it! Id go with the second hand too, but try and get into store and see it in the flesh before committing.

Adam: That Speedmaster is lovely.

Thanks everyone :)

I liked the planet ocean range but went for the Speedmaster as I can't see me building a collection of watches. Having 1 watch probably limits how crazy you can go so I played it very safe. They are cool now, but would they be in 3-5 years?

I picked up this watch over Christmas for myself for £70 ! It looks a little like a michael kors watch ..... loads of people have asked me where I got it from.

I very rarley wear shirts and dont wear a watch to work as im an engineer and it would get ruined! Usually just a tshirt and jeans kinda style so i think the orange would be fine

Not sure on the ceramic question, just looked similar and the manufactures specs match unless i missed something?

100% going go see/try it on before i decide to buy from anywhere, does a yobe here own the same watch?
