Faulty TV from Argos help.

Unless you are sat 12" from the TV how can 4 stuck pixels possibly interfere with your use of the TV, there's 2073596 other working pixels.
 
I bought a pair of skateboard type trainers from Schu a few months ago, in under 1 month the edge of the sole had started to come away from the fabric. I took them back and the silly assistant manager refused to refund me. I called head office whilst I was in there, they were equally as useless and wanted me to send the trainers into them. The lady was saying that it was a fashion item and refused to refund them. She did however offer an exchange. I accepted exchanged them then gave her back the new purchase and asked for a refund, which she obliged.

Ill never go back there again, worst customer service ive ever experienced. Yet completely pointless as I got my way in the end by taking a different route.
 
Quote the Sales of Goods act at them. Warranty is irrelevant, it's faulty as supplied so they must refund; threaten them with the Ombudsman if they continue to refuse.
 
Best thing to do is call up to the main call center number which will be on Argos website, Explain the situation and if they wont help ask to go through to the resolutions department, As long as you complain enough they should send some 1 to pick up the tv and get a replacement delivered to you which should have been done as soon as you called up, Sending you into store should have only been done if there was no stock in the warehouse and your local store had one. (i work in the homebase / argos call center)

Unless its changed since I quit working in retail about 15 years ago - it's outside of 28 days so the refund provision doesn't apply. They are still liable as the retailer to repair or replace, but can refer to the warranty as supplied by the manufacturer for guidance. 4 stuck pixels isn't enough for LG to take action.

Unfortunately for the OP.

Argos will refund but only if all other options are exhausted such as product specific after sales / spare parts / replacing the item as long as its within 12 months

I understand that. The short version of what I was saying is that OP can't (to paraphrase) slam it down on the counter and demand a refund there and then which would be possible within 28 days of purchase.
 
No mate. the dead pixels are around the center of the TV. The marks were around the edges.

Are they very close to each other, like within 5 pixels? If you have a cluster of them this may class it as faulty. But yeah as others have said perhaps try a different store, maybe even let them know about that very intermittent fault where is turns itself off every other day.
 
Oh come on! How many of you here that saying 4 dead pixels is not a fault have dead pixels on your TVs?

I've had three flat screen TVs (all LGs), 6 laptops, 3 computers monitors and none of them have had dead pixels, this doesn't include work TFTs/LCDs screens for work, which have seen 100s.

Yes back in the days, dead pixels was common but now a days?
 
I would not accept 1 dead pixel on a product that I purchase to be quite honest. Buy via credit card online and if dodgy in anyway send back for a refund / replacement until I get a good one..

people have been brainwashed to accept fault tolerance levels set by manufactures.

It's ridiculous that some people are attacking the op for wanting a brand new fully working tv like he paid for.

if the TV on the box said comes with 4 dead pixels would he have bought it? ofcourse not

Same,

It's why i buy my screens from a particular rainforest retailer due to how easy it is to just send things back with no quibbles even over 1 pixel.
 
Plasmas do suffer from dead pixels too, just less common. They have burn in and heat issues. My brothers 52" has ghosting and lines once it gets too hot, but that's way out of its warranty now.

Always wanted a projector but the costs of blubs.
 
I called back today and asked for a reason why I could not get the TV exchanged. The chap on the phone said it was due to what the manager said in store. Basically putting the blame on me.

I was told to call back tommorow and I should be able to speak with a manager.

Still dont think I will get anywhere tbh.
