What do you use for sound then?

I've got a xonar D2 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SC-000-AS&groupid=701&catid=11

But it's pci ...perfect for my x58 but I can't get the DX2 version as Both the pcie slots will be covered with two gtx 970 if I move to x99

I don't think I could stand onboard audio after using the d2 for so long :eek:

But that lot will set ya back at least 2.5k

Mine will reach a max of 3.8ghz and no higher so had to settle for that, that's with 1.368v. Didn't get much of a good one but it could be worse i guess.

Has any one ran two 970s or 980s yet on X58 to see how they fare?

I used to run 480 SLI and it was awesome for 3D

I flashed my mobo to enable sli....nit got around to getting another gtx 970 until I upgrade my monitor in March....

Hmm would like to see the results tbh.

My old Alienware Area 51 which I gave to my step son in law runs two 670s and they go like stink and that's a X58 board of sorts (some Dell thing, I have a 6 core ES that runs 2.1ghz sadly it wouldn't overclock).
