If I went X99 I would be sorely tempted to go with MATX. Asrock and Gigabyte both make drop dead gorgeous MATX boards.
From what I've seen from my Titans with a 770 stuffed between them the stock coolers do very well in a wedgie. Mind you, nothing to stop you using two AIOs on the GPUs and an AIO on the CPU. You could really pack some awesome power per square inch doing that.
One gripe I do have with my beast rig is the size of the damn thing. Now granted, I need it, but it's a git to keep clean and dust free. It takes me nearly an hour to heave it off of the desk and clean it all through.
I guess for me the next logical step is AIO cooling my GPUs. Would cost me about £150 ish to do both. Would really bring noise down too.
