Anyone Using an Asus DSL-AC68U

All default ADSL settings.
Latest Stable Released Firmware. ;)

No issues here, very very low CRC up and down for the length of uptime.
 
To offer an alternative, I loaded up build 2182 today and configured the DSL-ac68U from scratch.

After two hours of operation I had 56 download CRCs. By just after two hours I had 7633. I wasn't happy with the 56 and would have tried to live with it but the 7000+ seemed too many. HH5 restored to its former home alas.
 
107 CRC's after one day, only I am probably on interleaved, although I wish I knew for sure, and on a data rate down of 39999 kbps. However I have just ping'd my Asus and got this:
Pinging 192.168.1.1 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=8ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=17ms TTL=6
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=11ms TTL=6
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=3ms TTL=64

So some of my pings are down to my homeplug so I need to test whilst directly connected into the modem...

why they don't give an other ? is with in 7 days of purchase ... mind you, if is a bad batch could be the same, so another shop maybe different

I left spectrum alone, I used to have nearly double the CRC Down errors, CRC UP errors have not changed.

I'm currently using a TalkTalk super router, but looking for something a bit more advance.

Having had a N55U for my pre-fibre days I'm well versed in Asus, but threads like this have me worried.

Has anyone any experience of using this and say the Archer D9?

My line is of short distance to the cabinet, and it's a Huawei cabinet.

Yep well within 7 days. Ive had issues like this with companies before, what the law says and what they think they can get away with are 2 different things ;)

Ive learned the easiest way rather than try to argue your rights is just tell the credit card company, do a charge back then send the company a snotty email saying goods no longer required. One of 3 things then normally happen...
1) You never hear from them again
2) They make idle threats
3) They then suddenly when their pocket is hurt change their attitude to customer service and problems are miraculously sorted.

Either way gonna wait until im sure the charge back is complete on my next statement and then will be buying from elsewhere.
(AGAIN to highlight it was NOT overclockers that i ordered from, they have done nothing wrong before people panic).

The Archer D9 is i believe an ADSL device, so if you have FTTC that will not be any use unless you just want to use it as a router and still use the Talk Talk device as the modem.

The TPLINK TD-W9980 is the device from TPLINK with a VDSL/FTTC modem built in.

Good spot, I'd followed a link by another retailer for VDSL routers, and missed that.

The TPLINK TD-W9980 looks a little lacking in future proofing over the Asus, so it might be back to Asus for me.
 
Get it, if is not expensive the post ... i think it will not make difference if is imported, the psu is from 110-240 volts, you just may need a UK adapter 1 pound from the market or the pound shop

From what i have seen in the forums worldwide AU, Greece, UK, etc, for some works well for their line for some not ... perhaps depending the line resistant so personal if you get it from UK or Italy or Asia it will not make difference if will not cope with your line

The only it may worries been so low price, maybe a used one from return (selling it in perfect condition as new - perhaps not noticeable) but again perhaps is from a user which did not work well with his line ... are many returns about this issue & not hardware problem

Have a look the case with bitsNbobs (with respect) ... He got it from UK market & the power supply seems was faulty ... what i mean if you are unlucky not matter where you get it, it will happen (hardware or software issue)

Yeah an EU region adapter should work fine, though its another potential issue for the device, agree though should not make a difference. Just one variable i personally would not explore.
 
Having read the whole thread, I'm going to give the DSL-AC68U a miss for now, the problem is there's nothing much filling the gap.

The Billion 8800AXL is next on the list, but the wireless signal has been noted to be a weakness.

I'm a bit sad I've nothing to play with to replace this Super Router.
