Hope my missus doesn't see that board - give her too many ideas!

Certainly a good way to track progress as I have lists in my head and all too easy to forget.

It is cool and was good cracking through some it. I'll do a few more little bit latter but till shower is sorted I've no effort

Proper floor boards are expensive, I would lay ply or chipboard. Just as strong and half the price!

Just had a very hard a very strenuous afternoon watching a replay of the F1 Grand Prix on TV... that counts as a man job, doesn't it!

From experience with polyfill it dries and shrinks after a week or so - so leaving an excess proud seems to work better.

Poly cell finishing skim is good stuff. Great for tidying up a wall and very easy to sand. Deeper bits just need two layers

Walls in bedroom cleaned up and filled/skimmed and then white washed. Walls were a bit of a state where all the plaster came off when removing woodchip. Could have got it replastered but thought I'd put time into skimming/sanding a few times. Also surface mounted the light switch.

Then sanded, cleaned with white spirit and painted the skirting boards/architrave with wood primer.

Wall just needs a bit more skim in places. Today I washed as painted the ceiling twice. So time consuming to do properly but hopefully worth it

I wall mounted the TV a few weeks ago. Pretty chuffed with it really considering I haven't ever drilled into drywall to do something as hang a picture. Got all the cables inside the wall, etc. Now just to prep for the surround system.

I replaced a GFCI outlet in our bathroom, still doesnt work. Then I tried to replace and outdoor tap that's ****ing water everywhere when you turn it on (frost has knackered it) and I couldn't get it out of the wall. Pretty successful day :roll:

I put some shelves up in my son's room and wall mounted his baby monitor. That was slightly more successful.

SDS drill in chisel (non rotating) mode with a wide flat bit.. just remove any screws beforehand. Just watch the bits that go flying!

Just getting over a serious bout of Man Flue and been confined to brandy bottle - but today felt better so cleaned out and tidied shed - Isn't it nice to open door and walk to back of shed for something instead of climbing and shifting.

Also first day for ages the wind isn't blowing a gale - so nice to be out in garden again.

.. after coming back from camping everything was bundled in with enough space to dry off.. but I have lots of wood stuff around that I need to find a way to store useful offcuts - perhaps a wooden panel box bin..

Whilst I have a long weekend I'm going to get some turf to put where we had plants...does anyone have any advise before I lay the turf what should go beneath it? The soil the plants were in seemed good enough for them to grow in but should I add anything else?

You can see from the pic where the grass will be going at the front...

Unblocked the bathroom sink at 7.30 this morning.
Had to improvise as I was pushed for time, so took the karcher wet and dry vac to the plug hole. Worked surprisingly well

Mowed the lawn.

Whilst it doesn't sound like much, It's a fairly large lawn and it was still quite damp and I used a flymo.....
