???
I thought it was like this..

what do you think the world was like in medieval times
Game of thrones is probably what idiots think the medieval times were like i.e. people fighting all the time and dragons.
In reality people's attitudes to sex and violence were probably not that much different to how they are now. George RR Martin and the producers cherry pick for shock value/entertainment.
yea because I'm sure in real life people weren't getting servants pregnant and then kicking them out etc and blatantly having sex with people against their will when they were in a position to get away with it.
jimmy saville etc had the time of their lifes why can't you imagine more people like that in a time when you could get away with pretty much anything
I never said it didn't happen. I just don't think it was as bad as GoT portrays. Most other people that have knowledge on the subject seem to concur.
It's almost irrelevant whether it represents reality anyway... It's clearly a fantasy story! The important question is whether the abundant use of sexual violence in the series is adding anything to the story...
Yep, surprised she didn't to be frank
Was expecting Reek to finally snap out of it and stab the pyscho in the back.
I am disappoint ;(

His thinking, he said, was that "sexual violence, including rape and domestic abuse, should also feature in my work where necessary or appropriate to a given narrative, the alternative being to imply that these things did not exist, or weren't happening. This, given the scale upon which such events occur, would have seemed tantamount to the denial of a sexual holocaust, happening annually."
In the real world there are, Moore tells his interviewer, "relatively few murders in relation to the staggering number of rapes and other crimes of sexual or gender-related violence", but this is "almost a complete reversal of the way that the world is represented in its movies, television shows, literature or comic-book material".
"Why should murder be so over-represented in our popular fiction, and crimes of a sexual nature so under-represented?" he asks. "Surely it cannot be because rape is worse than murder, and is thus deserving of a special unmentionable status. Surely, the last people to suggest that rape was worse than murder were the sensitively reared classes of the Victorian era … And yet, while it is perfectly acceptable (not to say almost mandatory) to depict violent and lethal incidents in lurid and gloating high-definition detail, this is somehow regarded as healthy and perfectly normal, and it is the considered depiction of sexual crimes that will inevitably attract uproars of the current variety."
"Thank you Jon Snow"
"It's Kit.."
"Thank you Kit Snow"
He is capable aint he? If i remember rightly he was a very good fighter wasn't he? Same level as John Snow?

Same, I'd have loved to see him do some kind of slowmo kill streak, snapping out of it, killing Ramsay telling Sansa he didn't kill her brothers then slowmoing through the castle wiping out half the main characters.![]()
Since GRRM is no longer writing the show obviously the quality is going to nosedive. Lot's of character errors already.
A 100% Theon would wipe the floor with Ramsay. Theon's a trained swordsman alongside the Starks and has fought in proper battles. Ramsay has never had proper sword training. Roose Bolton says once "Ramsay is ferocious, but he swings that sword like a butcher hacking meat"
Theon would win in seconds imo. Hell, I even think Theon's sister could beat Ramsay. He's like Joffrey, brave when facing women and with his men by his side, but one on one has just not got the minerals or the skill.
Theon is missing most of his fingers by now though isn't he? He walks with a limp and might be missing other parts. movements might be somewhat restricted.
